We recently connected with Teresa Conrad and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have Teresa with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from?
Growing up my mom was working a job as a principal, getting her masters degree and running the accounting for the family business. My dad started his pool construction business with the help of my mom. Both of my parents worked their asses off every day while raising 2 kids involved in sports. I got to see that and it inspired my work ethic.
Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I grew up in Los Angeles, playing sports my entire life. I got to play softball for New Mexico State. Coming back from college is where I really leaned in to health and fitness and realized how sick, injured and misinformed America is. It’s my mission to help those who are ready to change their lifestyle from the typical couch potato eating fast food every day to an active healthy person with the knowledge needed to feel better and avoid hospitals and medications as much as possible. I really value women’s health and am excited about the growth in that subject.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
1. Always look for ways to keep learning; books, podcasts, mentors.
2. Make connections with others in your arena.
3. Truly care for the people around you.
What do you do when you feel overwhelmed? Any advice or strategies?
I go back to the basics when I start to feel overwhelmed. I write down a list of all the things I need to do and schedule it in my Google calendar. That helps me remember and makes things less overwhelming. Checking off stuff also feels good.
