Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to TERI CHRISTINE AKPOVI. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
TERI CHRISTINE , we’re so excited for our community to get to know you and learn from your journey and the wisdom you’ve acquired over time. Let’s kick things off with a discussion on self-confidence and self-esteem. How did you develop yours?
For me, confidence has been a journey of anchoring my identity in Christ through prayer, having wise
mentors, and stepping into opportunities even when I feel nervous. I have learned that true confidence
grows through action and alignment with purpose. Every time I have worked with a leader to hire the
right person or guided a team through a challenging transition, I remind myself that God placed me there
on purpose. That truth fuels and strengthens my confidence every time.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I am the Founder and Principal of Teri Christine, LLC, where I partner with organizations to attract and
retain great talent while building cultures where individuals and businesses thrive. Over the years, I have
partnered with Fortune 100, high-growth startups, and purpose-driven organizations to improve
engagement, reduce turnover, and align talent with business goals.
What excites me most is watching workplaces being transformed as leaders realize people are their
greatest asset and start creating environments where team members feel heard, supported, and
appreciated.
I also work directly with individuals navigating their own career growth. I recently led a Career
Accelerator program that equipped mid-career professionals to rebrand and position themselves for new
opportunities.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
1. Self-awareness: Know who you are, how you’re wired, and what environments help you thrive.
2. Communication: Have the ability to express vision, set boundaries, and build trust to create clarity, strengthen relationships, and operate with confidence.
3. Resilience: Learn to adapt quickly, keep your eyes on the bigger picture, and stay faithful in the
process.

Who has been most helpful in helping you overcome challenges or build and develop the essential skills, qualities or knowledge you needed to be successful?
I believe in leading with your God-given strengths. That is where you add the most value. At the same
time, be humble enough to work on your weaknesses to make you more effective.
