Meet Terri-ann Russell

We were lucky to catch up with Terri-ann Russell recently and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Terri-Ann, really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?

Pain and loss were a powerful catalyst for finding my purpose. In July 2019, I was the happiest I had ever been, I was remarried and living in Sedona working as an energy healer, when suddenly my middle son, Anthony passed from a medical complication. My life was turned upside down and I would undergo a powerful death and rebirth of my own.

Even having a connection to spirit, I was mourning the loss of my child. I felt like I was drowning in grief. The waves of grief would pull me into a dark abyss, I was suicidal and felt so much pain in my heart. My son Anthony, would come to me. I could hear him and sense his presence around me, he advised me to begin writing, to do energy healing, and to find the resources that I needed to help me. Every day I would write, it became cathartic for me.

Slowly, the universe and my son in spirit would guide me to ” Be the beacon of light” for others. Anthony guided me to my publisher, who would publish my first two books. I would see more of the higher perspective of my experience and how I was supposed to use it to help others. I transformed pain into passion by helping others understand the eternal journey, soul contracts, and how healing, transformation and spirituality go hand in hand.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

I spend most of my time being in service to others. As a transformative spiritual teacher and author, I help others in my private practice heal from pain and loss and connect with a deeper understanding of the soul and our soul’s purpose. Most of my work involves Reiki, Spiritual Hypnosis, Soul Healing, and my books.

My first book, FROM DEATH TO LIFE- THE INCREDIBLE TRUE STORY OF ANTHONY JOSEPH, speaks to grief and transformation offering hope and healing through spiritual connection. This book was the catalyst that would bring change to my life and those who read it. My second book, THE CRYSTALLINE LIGHT SERIES, A SPIRITUAL WORKBOOK FOR TRANSFORMATION, is a practical guide for those who are looking to shift their consciousness, let go of old patterns, thoughts and beliefs, and elevate their energetic frequency.

I also spend much time volunteering for Hospice using Reiki to help those transitioning. This has become a core piece of the work that I do, helping others understand that there is no death. I have done hundreds of podcasts where I share my story, I share about grief loss and the afterlife. We all experience death and loss at some point in our lives, and none of us are immune, it is my job to help others see the other side of death, it is merely the shedding of the physical body. Our souls continue and they are always connected to us.

I’ve just launched my third book, LIFE AFTER DEATH A GLIMPSE OF HEAVEN, which shares a compelling look into spiritual hypnosis, past life regression, and ancestral healing showcasing what lies beyond our physical existence. These were taken from the spiritual hypnosis sessions that I conducted two years before my son’s passing while living in Sedona, AZ.

I love to collaborate with other spiritual leaders to help expand our reach and bring normalcy to death and spiritual connection. I teach Reiki as well, energy healing is a necessity in today’s fast-paced world. I spend time attending local book festivals and meeting with others to share my knowledge and discuss life, death and the in between.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

First, trust your inner voice. We all have a voice inside that guides and directs us. Some call it our intuition, some call it our soul, some call it our guardian angel but few of us, trust the inner voice. Calm down and pay attention. Begin meditating. Practice listening to it, ask questions, be curious.

Second, work on your part. Healing yourself is crucial to your journey. The more that we can heal ourselves the more we can experience life without judgment. Healing helps clear the lens. old conditioned beliefs, thoughts, and patterns keep us stuck, healing sets us free. We all come in as a soul to learn and experience this world. Sometimes it is a harder path, but those lessons are meant to teach you.

Third, Take an active part in your journey. Take time to research everything that you can about where you are being guided in your life. Search out others that are like you. I tune into everything that I am given. I pay attention to the signs. Often, what we dismiss as coincidence, is guidance. If you hear something about beginning an exercise program and throughout the next few days, you are given messages or signs about that. Take notice. You must take an active part in your journey.

What would you advise – going all in on your strengths or investing on areas where you aren’t as strong to be more well-rounded?

Great question.
First, when it comes to your intuition, we are all blessed with different gifts. In the spiritual business, we call them clairs. Some are clairvoyant(seeing) while others are clairsentient(feeling), it is easiest to go to your strengths but I teach a different approach. I teach my students to go to their weakest clair. Intuition is like a muscle, the more you work on it, the stronger it gets. If you work on your weaker clair, you will grow that muscle.
The same can be said for any other strengths and weaknesses that you have. Of course, it is easier to write, if you are a writer. It may be more difficult to speak in front of others for you. In this case, you can start with baby steps, talking on camera in a work meeting or doing some one-on-one meetings. This is practice and you strengthen it every time you step out of your comfort zone and work on what you consider a weakness.
