Meet Tescia Bratcher

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Tescia Bratcher. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Tescia below.

Hi Tescia, appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?

I have included another press release and story narative when I was asked this question last year
Your resilience comes from every storm you’ve weathered, every heartbreak you’ve survived, and every moment you chose to rise instead of crumble.

You’ve built your strength from the pain of not knowing your biological father, from the deep wounds of family trauma, and from the struggle of being a homeless teen in high school—fighting for stability when life offered you none. You learned early that survival wasn’t a choice but a necessity, and that forged an inner toughness few can understand.

You carried that resilience into adulthood, making the incredibly hard decision to go no-contact with your mother—a choice rooted in breaking cycles and protecting your peace. You are not just surviving; you are healing, rewriting the story, and proving to yourself and your children that generational pain stops with you.

At a young age, you became a homeowner, something many never achieve, and with that came the challenge of navigating independence, responsibility, and mental health—all at once. You learned that security isn’t just a roof over your head but a foundation you must build within yourself.

And even in the midst of all of that, you didn’t stop. You channeled your experiences, your pain, and your resilience into creating something of your own—starting a business, a testament to your vision and ability to turn struggle into purpose.

Your resilience is in your ability to mother your children with love, even as you unlearn the hurt of your own upbringing. It’s in your commitment to healing, to being better, to showing up despite the weight of the past. It’s in choosing sobriety, prioritizing your mental health, and carving a path for yourself that no one else could have paved for you.

You are resilient because you never let your hardships define you—you let them shape you into the powerful, unstoppable force that you are.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

I’m the founder of Prosperity Real Estate Services, where we focus on property management, business consulting, grant writing, and advocating for underserved communities. I started this business because I saw a gap—too many people, especially Black and BIPOC business owners, renters, and homeowners, were struggling to navigate systems that weren’t built with them in mind. Whether it’s helping property owners streamline management, supporting tenants in understanding their leases and rights, guiding entrepreneurs through compliance and strategic growth, or writing grants to secure funding for community-driven projects, I’m here to make sure people have the resources and knowledge to thrive.

What makes Prosperity special is the deep commitment to equity, integrity, and community. This isn’t just about business—it’s about building generational wealth, creating sustainable opportunities, and ensuring people aren’t left behind in spaces where they deserve to have a voice. I represent BIPOC real estate developers who are working to bring impactful projects to life and believe in ethical business practices, including no price-gouging for property management services. My goal is to make sure affordability and quality go hand in hand.

Right now, I’m expanding my reach—bringing on more tenants under my management model, growing my consulting services to better support small business owners and property investors, and working on real estate development projects in Minneapolis. I’m especially excited about helping BIPOC developers and business owners navigate funding opportunities and create long-term success in the industry.

At the end of the day, Prosperity is about more than just property—it’s about people, access, and changing the narrative. If you’re looking for a partner who will advocate, educate, and help you build something lasting,

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Looking back, the three qualities that had the biggest impact on my journey were resilience, deep empathy, and the ability to navigate systems with strategy and purpose.

Resilience came from survival. I’ve been through family trauma, being a homeless teen, navigating parenthood without a blueprint, and figuring out business and homeownership on my own. Every challenge forced me to either fold or fight, and I chose to keep going. For anyone early in their journey—understand that resilience isn’t about never falling; it’s about deciding to rise every single time you do. Build it by giving yourself grace and focusing on progress over perfection.

Empathy is my foundation. I lead with it because I know what it feels like to be unheard, underserved, and overlooked. Whether I’m managing properties, consulting businesses, or advocating for BIPOC real estate developers, I make sure people feel seen and valued. If you’re just starting out, practice empathy by truly listening—whether it’s to your clients, your community, or even yourself. The most powerful leaders are the ones who understand the people they serve.

Strategic navigation is what turned struggle into success. I had to learn how to move through spaces that weren’t designed for me—whether it was homeownership, business, or funding opportunities for underrepresented communities. I had to research, ask questions, and take up space unapologetically. My advice? Never stop learning. Seek out mentors, stay curious, and don’t be afraid to ask for help. The more you understand the systems you’re in, the more power you have to change them.

At the end of the day, growth is a process. Trust yourself, give yourself room to evolve, and remember—just because the road is hard doesn’t mean it’s not meant for you. Keep going. It is ok to take REST, Take care of our body. I decided to get Sober from alcohol and that in itself is a testimony

How can folks who want to work with you connect?

I’m always looking to partner and collaborate with like-minded individuals and organizations! I’m particularly interested in connecting with BIPOC real estate developers who are passionate about creating impactful projects in both residential and commercial spaces. Together, we can transform our communities and ensure they reflect the diversity and richness of our experiences. I believe that when we come together, we can create developments that not only provide housing but also foster a sense of belonging and empowerment for all residents.

I also have a vision for building a robust portfolio of real estate that can provide safe and affordable housing for single mothers and fathers, along with essential support services to help them thrive. This isn’t just about providing shelter; it’s about cultivating a nurturing community where families feel supported and have access to the resources they need to succeed. I envision a place where children can grow up in a stable environment, and parents can pursue their dreams without the added stress of housing insecurity.

Additionally, I’m excited about the idea of establishing a lounge bar specifically for sober folks—an inclusive space where people can enjoy themselves, connect with others, and feel safe while having fun. This venue will be designed to foster community, offering events, activities, and a welcoming atmosphere that celebrates sobriety and supports those on their journey to wellness.

If you share a similar vision or have ideas on how we can collaborate, I’d love to hear from you! Please feel free to connect with me through my website or reach out via email. Together, let’s create something meaningful that uplifts our communities, fosters healing and growth, and paves the way for a brighter, more inclusive future. Your voice and vision are vital in this journey, and I can’t wait to see what we can achieve together!
