Meet Tessa Blakney

We recently connected with Tessa Blakney and have shared our conversation below.

Tessa, we’re thrilled to have you sharing your thoughts and lessons with our community. So, for folks who are at a stage in their life or career where they are trying to be more resilient, can you share where you get your resilience from?

As a woman-owned permanent jewelry business, my resilience is rooted in both purpose and community. Creating meaningful, lasting pieces that symbolize connection and memory. Beyond the jewelry itself, it’s about showing up every day as a woman in business, breaking barriers, and building something that reflects my values. I draw strength from other women in business who inspire me, from my team, and from the clients who trust us to be a part of their special moments.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

We specialize in custom-fit anklets, necklaces, bracelets, and pretty much any piece you can think of! Each piece is designed to be timeless and permanent, just like the memories they represent.

Our goal is to create beautiful, high-quality jewelry while offering a fun and memorable experience for our customers, whether it’s to mark a friendship, a milestone, or simply to treat themselves.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Looking back, the most impactful parts of my journey as a woman-owned permanent jewelry business have been purpose, relationship-building, and a strong sense of community. Being flexible helped me navigate challenges, building genuine connections grew the business in meaningful ways, and staying rooted in my “why” kept me motivated. For anyone starting out, my advice is to remain open to learning, focus on building real relationships, and lead with purpose- growth will follow.

What is the number one obstacle or challenge you are currently facing and what are you doing to try to resolve or overcome this challenge?

Retaining talented team members has been one of our biggest challenges lately. We truly value the women who represent our brand, so it’s tough when there’s turnover. That said, we look at it as an opportunity to grow and reflect. We’re constantly working to create a supportive, positive work environment where our team feels valued, empowered, and excited to grow with us. From better training to open communication, we’re focused on building a positive work culture people want to be part of- not just for a season, but for the long run.
