Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Tetiana Krusir. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Tetiana, thanks for joining us today. Let’s jump right into something we’re very focused on here – improving our ability to make decisions. Everyday, we’re faced with decisions that can impact the future of our careers, businesses, relationships and more and so one of the most impactful areas for personal development, in our view, is decision-making. Can you talk to us about how you developed or improved your decision-making skills?
My decision-making skills were shaped during one of the most difficult transitions in my life — moving to the United States and starting over from zero.
When I first arrived, I quickly realized that the stability I had before was gone. I had to make choices that directly affected not only my financial survival but also my future path. For example, when I was let go from an event agency after just one month, I could either see it as a failure or use it as an opportunity. I decided to take control and create my own online flower business, even though I had no resources or team at that moment.
Since then, decision-making for me has become a combination of listening to intuition and applying discipline. I learned to analyze risks, weigh options, and — most importantly — commit to a decision once it is made. Later, when I faced whether to stay just in floristry or expand into event décor and planning, I again chose growth. It wasn’t the easiest route, but it aligned with my long-term vision.
Now, I see decision-making as a skill of balancing courage and clarity. Courage to choose what feels right even if it’s uncertain, and clarity to follow through consistently. Every challenge I faced — from financial struggles to business pivots — has been a training ground to strengthen that skill.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I am the founder and creative director of Make My Day Flowers & Events, a brand that combines floral design with event décor and planning. My journey started when I moved to the U.S. and decided to build something from the ground up after facing professional setbacks. What makes my brand special is the ability to transform emotions and stories into visual experiences — from bespoke bouquets to large-scale event concepts.
Today, I focus not only on creating beautiful floral arrangements but also on developing Make My Day Events, where we design weddings, corporate events, and celebrations with a fresh, modern approach. What excites me the most is blending creativity with entrepreneurship — building a business that is both artistic and strategic.
Looking ahead, I’m expanding into new directions, including AI-driven visual design for events and collaborations with lifestyle brands. For me, Make My Day is not just about flowers — it’s about creating unforgettable moments and showing how creativity can grow into a sustainable business.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Looking back, the three most important qualities in my journey were:
1. Resilience. Moving to a new country and starting over from zero required me to face rejection, uncertainty, and financial challenges. Resilience taught me to see setbacks as redirections, not as failures. My advice: don’t be afraid of difficulties — they often become the foundation of your growth.
2. Decision-making. Building a business means making choices every day, from financial risks to creative directions. I learned to combine intuition with analysis, and once I make a decision, I commit fully. For anyone starting out: practice making small decisions quickly and learn from them — it builds confidence for the big ones.
3. Creativity. My brand was born from the desire to transform emotions into visual experiences through flowers and event design. Creativity helped me not only to create beautiful projects but also to find unique solutions in business. My advice: nurture your creativity daily — through travel, art, or even quiet reflection — because it’s the spark that keeps everything alive.

Before we go, maybe you can tell us a bit about your parents and what you feel was the most impactful thing they did for you?
I believe our strengths are the core of who we are, and leaning into them is what creates momentum, confidence, and results. When I started my business, I knew that my creativity, vision, and ability to connect ideas were my biggest advantages. By focusing on those, I was able to stand out in a competitive market and build something unique.
At the same time, I’ve realized that ignoring weaknesses completely can become a limitation. For example, as an entrepreneur, I couldn’t afford to let financial management or technical aspects of running a business hold me back. Instead of trying to become an expert in every single area, I learned to build systems, educate myself just enough to understand the essentials, and lean on tools or partnerships to support me where I wasn’t naturally strong.
So my philosophy is: go all in on your strengths, because that’s where your unique value is — but don’t let weaknesses become roadblocks. Strengthen them just enough to stay resilient, and then create an environment where your strengths can shine. This balance has allowed me to grow both as a creative and as an entrepreneur.
