Meet Texas Hold Em Promo

We were lucky to catch up with Texas Hold Em Promo recently and have shared our conversation below.

Texas , we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.

How we Found our Purpose:

our purpose found us the middle of doing what I loved—exploring Texas, connecting with people, and sharing local gems that often go unnoticed. What started as casual content soon turned into something bigger: a mission especially in the DFW

When our blog first started gaining traction, it wasn’t about going viral—it was about reaching people. People were messaging us saying, we didn’t know this was happening in my city,” or “Thanks to your post, our purpose is to help people feel more connected to where they live—through discovery, storytelling, and showing up for the community.

Texas is huge and full of culture, events, small businesses, and creators who deserve to be seen. texas hold em wanted our blog and platforms to be the bridge between them and the people looking for something real, something fun, something local. Whether it’s a pop-up market, a hidden food spot, or an art show, we found purpose in being that local plug—making sure nobody misses out on what’s happening right in their backyard.

It’s more than just sharing—it’s about building pride, supporting others, and reminding people there’s beauty, culture, and connection all around them. That’s how I found my purpose—and I’m still walking it every day.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

At Texas Hold Em Promo, we’re all about celebrating the spirit of Texas—one post, event, and hidden gem at a time. What started as a passion for local culture and community turned into a growing platform dedicated to highlighting events, small businesses, creatives, and experiences across the Lone Star State, especially here in DFW.

Our mission is simple: connect people with the best of what’s happening around them—whether that’s a weekend market, an underground food spot, an emerging artist, or a must-attend festival. We believe in making it easy (and exciting) to explore your own city, support local, and discover something new.

What makes this journey so special is the people. The local vendors hustling to build something from the ground up. The communities putting on events with heart and culture. The everyday folks who message us saying, “Thanks to your page, we finally tried that spot!” That’s the fuel behind what we do.

Right now, we’re expanding our efforts with more in-person coverage, behind-the-scenes reels, and curated guides for locals and travelers alike. We’re also working on launching a newsletter and collaborations with local brands to bring even more visibility to Texas businesses doing great things.

If you’re looking for something real, local, and full of personality—you’ll find it with us. We’re here to hype up the state we love and connect people through culture, community, and content.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

1. Storytelling
Being able to tell a story—whether through a caption, a short video, or a blog post—has been one of the most powerful tools in my journey. People connect with authenticity, not just information. Telling the why behind a local event or small business helps build real connection and trust.
Advice: Start by sharing your experiences, not just announcements. Let people feel the energy of what you’re posting about. Practice turning everyday moments into stories.

2. Curiosity & Local Knowledge
What drives Texas Hold Em Promo is a genuine curiosity about what’s happening in our cities—hidden spots, community events, cultural movements. That curiosity became a guide for uncovering things others might overlook.
Advice: Stay curious and explore with intention. Talk to business owners, ask questions, visit new neighborhoods, and keep learning about the people and stories around you.

3. Building Relationships
This journey has taught me that you can’t grow in a vacuum. Every collaboration, DM, vendor shoutout, or casual conversation has helped build the foundation of our brand. Relationships matter just as much—if not more—than content.
Advice: Don’t wait to be discovered. Introduce yourself, support others, and show love without expecting something back. Real relationships open doors and create longevity.

Alright, so before we go we want to ask you to take a moment to reflect and share what you think you would do if you somehow knew you only had a decade of life left?

If I knew we only had a decade left, I’d spend it fully present, deeply rooted, and wildly intentional. we d pour into the people and places that have shaped me—especially the communities across Texas that inspire my work every day.

we would keep telling stories, but I’d make them even more personal. I’d shine an even bigger light on small businesses, cultural traditions, and underrepresented voices. our blog would travel across the state, capturing moments that matter—from local festivals to backroad food joints to powerful everyday conversations. I’d turn those stories into something lasting: maybe a book, a docuseries, or a community archive.

But most importantly, we would love to invest in real relationships. I’d spend more time with loved ones, support the next generation of creators, and give back to the community that’s given me so much. we wouldn’t chase “more”— we chase meaning. Because if I’ve got 10 years left, we want them to count—for something bigger than me.
