Meet The A13mando

We recently connected with The A13mando and have shared our conversation below.

Mr. A13mando, so great to have you with us and thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts with the community. So, let’s jump into something that stops so many people from going after their dreams – haters, nay-sayers, etc. We’d love to hear about how you dealt with that and persisted on your path.
The way I persist regardless of hate or doubt is interacting with the people who do believe and have had their lives change due to my work. My company, The 13 Night Lights, has gone through many changes, difficult nights and days with no sales. I responded with hardly acknowledging the “failures”, and focusing more on the network of people we cultivate for our fan base. I knew my product was top of the line, I just had to get people to believe. For every 1 naysayer, there are 5 believers.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
My name is A13mando, Hiphop Savant, Atlanta’s legend and always Mr. 13 Night Lights. I wear many hats, but the hat I love the most would be being the Owner and Curator of The 13 Night Lights. We Are the greatest hip-hop experience in the world, held every 13th in the south metro Atlanta area. This is the show where the stars align and become constellations. A space of safety, Talent, Love and God. The Instagram is @the13nightlights and I’d advise you give it a chance.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Diplomacy. My ability to establish solid relationships with the network around me is what brought me to the space I am today and will take me further. My advice towards developing that early? Talk to people. It’s so simple and yet so scary for most just to have genuine conversations, and That’s why a great conversation is something to be remembered. Being able to benefit the people around you and impact people through conversation will take you down the metaphorical brick road.

What’s been one of your main areas of growth this year?
Establishing boundaries and prioritizing me. It’s so simple But I’ve always struggled with being able to tell people close to me no and after years of running on a hamster wheel to the point of my own deprivation, I realized that it was just me and god here doing works of many. As a business owner, we always say we when speaking from the perspective of our companies however, I realize I’d given others achievements they did not deserve, God and I created this company and I have been keeping it afloat, So I’m going to choose to prioritize ME. I deserve and so do you dear reader, Everyone deserves to be the best them they can possibly be for no one else’s benefit, just for themselves. I’d been working so hard on cooking by the time I ate I wasn’t hungry. Lol no longer, because I deserve and I will invest in my temple.
