Meet The Movement Project

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful The Movement Project a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

The Movement , we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.

We each found our purpose through our own unique journeys in the competitive dance world. While competitive dance is often seen as a tough, high-pressure environment—and we’ve all faced our share of challenges growing up in it—it also shaped who we are today.

As adults, we’re deeply passionate about creating a positive, non-toxic space in the dance community. We truly believe that a healthy, supportive environment can exist right alongside the discipline and drive of competitive dance. Growth, commitment, and positivity don’t have to be sacrificed for excellence—they can fuel it.

Our goal is to show our students and our community that dance is so much more than just trophies and awards. It’s about artistry, self-expression, vulnerability, and the beautiful process of creation—and sometimes, even decay. Most of all, it’s about discovering and connecting with who you truly are.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

The Movement Project was founded by three women with uniquely diverse dance backgrounds, united by a shared passion: to create a space where dance is truly accessible to everyone. Our mission is simple but powerful—to ignite passion, elevate movement, and inspire artistry through dance.

We’re proud to be one of the only studios in the Front Range offering a student choreography program, a hip hop-only competitive team, a junior faculty program, and adult dance classes. Our goal is to blend movement, creativity, and passion into a supportive, uplifting environment where every dancer can thrive. With a range of programs designed to meet dancers where they are, we put the individual journey at the heart of everything we do.

This summer, we’re excited to offer a variety of fun and engaging camps for ages 4–12, and we’re gearing up to celebrate the grand opening of our brand-new permanent space in August—open to the public, and we’d love to see you there!

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

For us, the three most important qualities on this journey have been resilience, patience, and a deep trust in each other-and in our own abilities. Starting a new business is not for the faint of heart—it challenges you in ways you could never fully anticipate. We’ve faced our fair share of tough days, long weeks, and uncertain months to get to where we are now.

Our advice to anyone chasing a dream: trust the process, believe in yourself and your vision, and don’t let anyone tell you it’s not possible—because it absolutely is.

We’ve all got limited resources, time, energy, focus etc – so if you had to choose between going all in on your strengths or working on areas where you aren’t as strong, what would you choose?

We really believe in being well-rounded—not just in the things we’re good at, but especially in the areas we’re not. Growth happens when you’re open to learning. The moment you stop being open is when you start to become stagnant.

In our opinion, the most successful businesses are led by people who are curious and hungry to learn—not afraid of others who might know more. That mindset has been a huge reason why our partnership works so well.

Plenty of people told us that a three-way partnership could be tough, maybe even competitive. But because we all share that same growth mindset, it’s made us stronger. We’ve been able to support each other and grow in different ways, and that balance has been key.

It’s something we try to model for the kids we teach, too—always being open to learning from others and continuing to grow, no matter where you’re at.
