Meet The Murder Diaries Podcast

We were lucky to catch up with The Murder Diaries Podcast recently and have shared our conversation below.

Hi The Murder Diaries, really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?
The victims whose stories we tell and survivors who tell their stories on our podcast are at the forefront of our purpose. On the Murder Diaries we create awareness while keeping the light and name of the victims alive while advocating and providing support to families of murdered and missing persons. Our platform also offers insightful interviews to educate the true crime community. In many ways these victims are the impetus that keeps us going, our purpose.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
We use straightforward storytelling to spotlight cold and unsolved cases, missing persons, and suspicious deaths. We over incorporate original audio from the victims’ friends and families. The Murder Diaries podcast also includes monthly interviews with, but not limited to, survivors and true crime related experts. Aside from cases, we cover topics such as true crime ethics.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Ethics, growth, and compassion. Understanding and learning more about ethics in true crime in something newer for a lot of the true crime community, both consumers and content creators. These are real people behind the cases we cover. We had to learn how to work with and support families and do our part in the community. It took time and experience to grow in to a truly victim focused platform.

Looking back over the past 12 months or so, what do you think has been your biggest area of improvement or growth?
Honestly, with every year that has passed, we grow as podcasters. We become more refined in the quality of our episodes and our platform expands. Every year when we look back we are amazed how far the Murder Diaries has come. In the past years, we were able to organize more and add team members that help support keeping our podcast going, allowing us to focus on the content creation and the victims that need us.
