Meet The Mystified

We were lucky to catch up with The Mystified recently and have shared our conversation below.

The, so many exciting things to discuss, we can’t wait. Thanks for joining us and we appreciate you sharing your wisdom with our readers. So, maybe we can start by discussing optimism and where your optimism comes from?

To think about where we started a year ago, we started with no followers and no fan base. We have grown a lot since that point and not only as The Mystified but also as individuals. We are both full time college students and also have part-time jobs on the side and we have gone through a lot to keep the Mystified going, but it also helps us stay connected as friends through a busy time. We live in two separate states during the school year, so the Mystified keeps us connected and two best friends get to work together to create something they love and are proud of.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

The Mystified is made up of two long distance best friends (Shelby and Charlie) who have known each other since Kindergarten, and now make content together on a wide variety of platforms like Instagram and Youtube about their lives and the memories that we make along the way. We are two strong women going through a crazy part of life so we are here to share our stories and humor with anyone who wants to watch our triumphs and laugh with us.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Creativity, time management, and the technological side of the job are all skills or qualities that made this happen. They helped us get through all the twists and turns that social media is constantly providing. We have needed to stay creative to come up with engaging content and new things to make. Time management has been very important because we both are very busy in our day-to-day lives so doing this on the side has not been easy. Also, knowing how to edit, work a camera, and all the other tech we have needed to learn or upgrade has helped us make better content as we slowly grow our fan base.

How would you spend the next decade if you somehow knew that it was your last?

Summer has flown by and we are quickly running out of time we will be together to make content so we are both worried for when we go back to college and we will need to get really creative and double down but we have done it before and new challenges brings on new ideas.
