Meet The Neighbors

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful The Neighbors. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with The below.

The, looking forward to learning from your journey. You’ve got an amazing story and before we dive into that, let’s start with an important building block. Where do you get your work ethic from?
That’s a tough question which actually has two answers.

As a music producer, it’s a combination of passion, discipline, and influential figures in the industry Love for music has been obviously been the driving force. Something that is needed to keep going through the countless hours to perfecting my craft. The desire to create something new while still being familiar.

In terms of DJing it’s mostly about setting goals, creating a structured schedule, which is very tough in this line of work. We’ve probably failed at doing so more often than not. But most importantly, we think that remembering who you’re playing music for is the driving force. At the end of the day we’re just pressing buttons, the real work was done days/months/years prior.. and this point it’s all about seeing and being a part of peoples emotions.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
Coupled together for their love of sounds, Eli & Meir began their musical journey by absolute fluke. They lived near each other. They were both
passionate about music and spent most of their free time creating their own
beats.

After getting to know each other, Eli & Meir quickly realized they shared a
common goal: to create beautiful music. They began collaborating on music
and experimenting with new sounds, eventually landing their first gig at a local
bar. The response from the crowd was overwhelming and they knew they
were onto something special.

Fate has brought them together and music sealed that relationship. The
Neighbors project came to life.

Over the next few years, Eli & Meir continued to hone their skills and develop
their own unique sound. They started to play at bigger venues, and eventually
caught the attention of top record labels, such as Go Deeva, Wired, Songuara and more.
Their first single was a hit, and they quickly became knownas one of the top DJ duos in the country.

As their fame grew, so did their popularity. They started headlining bigger
venues and playing shows all over the world such as Cenote Tulum, SXM
Festival, Piknic Electronik, Boho Miami, Soluna, New City Gas, Gospel NY, Summerdaze Festival & more.

Their music was being played on radio stations
and in clubs everywhere on their journey to become household names.
Despite their success, Eli & Meir remained grounded and continued to work
hard. They were known for their high energy shows and their ability to connect
with any audience. They always made time for their fans, and never forgot
their roots.

The word neighbor has a very warm and meaningful connotation to them.
Today, Eli & Meir credit their success to their passion for music, their hard
work, and their friendship. They still live near each other and continue to
collaborate on new music with exceptional artists such as Shai T, Simone
Vitullo, DSF & more, inspiring a new generation of aspiring DJs to follow in
their footsteps.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Fun question….

We would have to say, in no particular order:

1. Passion. This is a fruitless journey without it. It can be the most tedious task if you don’t enjoy it. Thankfully we are at a part of our careers where we get to pick and choose our destiny so that helps. But even then you have to make sure to always keep your love for the music.

2. Musical and technical theory. It’s extremely important to have people willing to help you when you just can’t get something working for you. Patience is a virtue, work ethic is a bonus here.

3. Networking. This part is sometimes overstated and sometimes understated. It’s weird like that… But at the end of the day we’re doing a job that involves a lot of socializing. In general society people just want to do business with fun and nice people, it’s amplified 10x in our field.

How would you spend the next decade if you somehow knew that it was your last?
One of the biggest hurdles has been to consistently deliver a high quality performance. Choosing which avenue to take will greatly affect your final destination. There is not a month that goes by where we don’t have to make decisions that may shape the rest of our career.

Every meet, performance, musical choice might just take you on a completely different path.

Having a handful of tunes currently in the works, you doubt you work 100 times and eventually feel comfortable enough to show the world and sometimes you regret a single instrument but sometimes you’re completely satisfied. It’s weird like that.

Whatever the challenge we’re ready for it.
