We were lucky to catch up with The Penny Farthing Tea Room recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi The Penny Farthing Tea Room, you’ve got such an interesting story, but before we jump into that, let’s first talk about a topic near and dear to us – generosity. We think success, happiness and wellbeing depends on authentic generosity and empathy and so we’d love to hear about how you become such a generous person – where do you think your generosity comes from?
Our generosity is sparked by the drive to create a space for members of our community and beyond to feel at home. As we always say “we were built by a community that we now want to serve”
Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
Our original business (BritsBrand LLC) was a way to bring British inspired product to the USA. After several community/fundraising events we realized that we could start a lucrative business using our skills of baking and entrepreneurism. Our dream of a British Tea Room and our own commercial bakery became a reality in September of 2024. We are three ordinary women with the potential, drive and skills to succeed at a business that brings joy to many and inspiration to other women.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Hard work, determination and friendship.

To close, maybe we can chat about your parents and what they did that was particularly impactful for you?
The common ground for all three of us was a massive dose of work ethic. We had to work hard for everything we wanted from a young age. That has carried through with us during our lives.
