We recently connected with Theo Bray and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Theo , we’re so appreciative of you taking the time to share your nuggets of wisdom with our community. One of the topics we think is most important for folks looking to level up their lives is building up their self-confidence and self-esteem. Can you share how you developed your confidence?
My confidence comes from God. He is the one who spoke the world that we see into existence and He has my world figured out. I put my trust, identity and confidence in Him.
Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
My journey through the arts began in High School. I was a troubled kid whom the school had run out of resources with. They put me in Theater Arts as a last resort. This taught me a level of work ethic and discipline I lacked prior. After a long hiatus, I came back to the arts in 2014 and have been in front of and behind the camera working on several different projects (TV, film, commercials, etc).
When I’m not acting, I’m directing. I have 3 completed works on Tubi of projects I’ve directed: Kaylah, Dry Places and Lavished With Grace.
I pride myself in attaching myself to stories that mean something.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
I would say the three most qualities that have been the most impactful in my journey are:
Troubleshooting
Active Learning
Innovation
Dare to keep learning!
Dare to find mentors!
Dare to trust your instincts!
What was the most impactful thing your parents did for you?
The most impactful thing my parents did for me was teaching me to tackle my pursuits with passion and to see them through.
