Meet Theo Tsanas

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Theo Tsanas. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Theo below.

Theo, thanks so much for taking the time to share your insights and lessons with us today. We’re particularly interested in hearing about how you became such a resilient person. Where do you get your resilience from?

When I was 21 and in my final year of film production at university, I was given the challenge of writing, producing, and directing a 20-minute short film set during one of the coldest Canadian winters on record. The brutal conditions left actors battling pneumonia, and I spent two weeks sleep-deprived, pouring everything into the project—but we wrapped, and it was worth it. The film went on to win awards worldwide, and it was then that I realized: with fiery passion, resilience is born and becomes undefeatable. This vision of resilience has fueled every passionate endeavor since—including The Credos.

Years later, that resilience took on new meaning when I got married and became a parent. I came to understand that we must rely on God first, trusting the path He illuminates for us, empowering us to make choices that either move us closer to our goals or pull us away—there’s no middle ground. Knowing my family depended on me sparked a powerful drive to stand firm and rise above anything that might steer me from my mission and purpose.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

The Credos is a platform where people can create or join structured daily plans and challenges with others, whether connecting with strangers online or forming their own groups. It’s a community-driven space fostering faith-centered growth across any field with like-minded individuals—but it didn’t start off that way.

A decade ago, I was a lost 20-year-old, grappling with anxiety and self-medicating to cope. I explored every path I could find—solo travel, new-age spirituality, mysticism, religions, and philosophies from around the world—in search of truth and peace. Yet, each path conflicted in its core beliefs. Finally, I read the Bible from cover to cover with an open mind, and it gave me the wisdom I’d been searching for, unlocking a vision I’d always held for myself: becoming a family man, a devout husband, and a father loved freely.

While working in tech, including roles at Apple, Square, and in Silicon Valley’s AI scene, I felt God was equipping me to create something impactful. I’d always had an entrepreneurial spirit, from running a lawn care business in high school to launching a media production house and various websites.

The Credos started as a book—a historical fiction piece I launched on Kickstarter, raising over $10k. I envisioned a companion website where readers could follow journaling and self-discovery tasks tied to each story. But as I built it, the website took on a life of its own, evolving into a platform with a broader mission: to guide people toward purpose-driven lives centered on Biblical principles and Jesus.

Interestingly, we don’t label The Credos as a Christian platform, as I know firsthand that those on a soul-searching journey don’t always look for “Christian” resources. Our mission is to empower people from all backgrounds to experience the transformative power of faith-inspired plans, just as I happened to stumble upon.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

In every professional pursuit I’ve tackled, three qualities stand out that I’d urge any entrepreneur to focus on: delegation, time management, and generosity. I’m still working on mastering them myself, but they’ve already proven to be the most vital and impactful principles by far.

1) Delegation

Delegation is the backbone of growth. No one can do it all, and by entrusting tasks to capable team members, you not only free up your time but also empower others to contribute their best work. It’s the skill that allows leaders to build teams that actually scale a vision rather than just manage it.

2) Time Management

Time is finite, and managing it well is key to getting the most impact from each day. Prioritizing tasks, setting boundaries, and knowing what deserves immediate attention can be the difference between moving forward and just treading water. For entrepreneurs, time management is about making every second count toward the bigger picture.

3) Generosity

Generosity isn’t just about financial giving; it’s about being generous with your knowledge, support, and encouragement. Creating a positive, supportive environment builds loyalty and fuels motivation. A generous leader inspires a culture of giving that strengthens the team, the business, and ultimately, the community they serve.

Mastering these three qualities can elevate both your impact and influence as a leader and lay a solid foundation for any entrepreneurial venture.
