Meet Theodora Atanassov

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Theodora Atanassov. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi Theodora, so happy to have you on the platform and I think our readers are in for a treat because you’ve got such an interesting story and so much insight and wisdom. So, let’s start with a topic that is relevant to everyone, regardless of industry etc. What do you do for self-care and how has it impacted you?
Self care is different for each person, and some things work for one person but not the next. For me, I take care of my self through daily meditation, focusing on being mindful and aware in my everyday life, spending time alone to relax, journaling every day, reading books on self improvement and taking good care of my skin. Doing these things helps me to put myself first, whereas in the past I spent a lot of my time overlooking myself and focusing on pleasing others in my life. I am able to focus on taking care of myself, and when I do, I feel that my overall quality of life is better. It motivates me to accomplish more for myself, and it also encourages me to be patient with everyone I encounter and treat them kindly. When I take care of myself it becomes easier to also take care of others around me.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
In my life, I have consistently expressed interest in anything where I could be creative and create some kind of art. The main way I express myself through art is through modeling/fashion and drawing/painting. I always have an image in my mind of how I want to portray something, and the message that I want to get across. I try my best to incorporate that into my creative work however I can. These creative passions of mine are very special to me because it feels like I can create a story without the need to use words. Expressing a story without words is a bit easier for me, because sometimes I struggle to find the words to get my point across. That aspect of all creatives has always been so fascinating to me, no matter which way they channel their creativity.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
I believe in any career or hobby the most important qualities are resilience, belief in yourself, and not comparing yourself to others and their progress. This applies to any field of interest, and for me this applies a lot in my modeling career. You have to keep pushing forward no matter how much rejection you may face, otherwise you will never reach the opportunity that can transform you because you decided to give up early on. In the long run you will be extremely grateful for the journey you went through, making it even more gratifying when you achieve goals that you’ve set for yourself.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
I am always looking to collaborate with new people! I love working with fellow creatives to make amazing art. Anyone who is ready to think outside of the box and try new ideas is welcome to connect with me and do our best to make the ideas come to life.
