Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Thyme Lewis. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Thyme, so great to have you on the platform. There’s so much we want to ask you, but let’s start with the topic of self-care. Do you do anything for self-care and if so, do you think it’s had a meaningful impact on your effectiveness?
Self care is the most important part of my day and it starts with proper nourishment and deep REM sleep. If my mind and body are healthy and clear, I am extremely effective in everything I do. My days start early with juicing organic celery followed by a protein smoothie 3-4 hours later. I also utilize a heated eyepad when meditating to optimize eye function and squelch redness. I use vitamin E on my face before I shower followed by Aloe Vera gel and 8-in-1 BioSerum. And I train at Gold Gym in Venice Beach with one of my long time friends Tom McComas. He is a legend in the stunt world of Hollywood. I suppose I’m pretty disciplined in my practices and align myself with like minded friends. Keeps me happy.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I am Thyme Lewis, a celebrated American actor, author, humanitarian and former Hollywood stuntman whose career spans three decades with over 200 appearances in tv and film. I grew up in Big Sur and Carmel-by-the-Sea, California. My first rise to fame came when I portrayed the tactful Jonah Carver on the daytime soap series Days of Our Lives. Afterwards, I also produced several indie films with stars like Sydney Sweeney, Tia Carrere, and the late Tom Sizemore, amongst others. I took a ten year hiatus from Hollywood and raised teo boys in Northern California before returning to acting and residing in Los Angeles five months ago. I am now a working actor again and am grateful on the heels of the strike. I am also completing my second novel titled All The Way In. My first novel has done well that I released in 2023 titled A Week’s Worth. It’s a dive into the underbelly of disaster relief work which I am proud to have served during my time with FEMA. When official channels get blocked, my hero MacGuffin finds a way to right the wrongs in a not so friendly world. Yeah, I stay busy be it self inflicted or induced by the Hollywood machine.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
1. Grit. I’ve got it in spades.
2. Healthy habits. My discipline runs deep. Growing up in Big Sur we had the great fortune of pets. Chickens. Ducks. Geese. Doves. Dogs. Cats. A Peacock. Even a spirited Billy goat. And caring for those wonderful personalities or responsibilities at a young age instilled habits in me that I appreciate today.
3. Mentors. Fortunately for me, I am driven. It’s in my DNA. Especially improving my work as an actor going forward. Returning to Los Angeles, I’ve found some fantastic teachers and busy myself in the work. There’s so much tip of the spear talent here.
One more thing. I knew early on how lucky I was having my mother and father in my life and our personal history our lineage carried. I also knew there was more to explore than the ninety miles of coastline on my motorcycle known as Big Sur. So I ventured out. And in doing so, found the vibration of acting that vibes best with me. Luckily, my childhood skillsets with motorbikes and driving vehicles have all tied wonderfully into film and television.
For people looking to get to the next level. Practice. Practice. Practice. And sometimes changing your environment and mentor’s brings fresh ideas and details.

Awesome, really appreciate you opening up with us today and before we close maybe you can share a book recommendation with us. Has there been a book that’s been impactful in your growth and development?
No singular book. I’ll mention several;
As You Think by James Allen, 1904
The Prophet by Khalil Gibran, 1923
Richest Man in Babylon by George S. Clayson, 1926
Shantaram by Gregory David Roberts, between 1980-2003
All of these are loaded. In a singular word, I’d summarize as DEDICATION.
