Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Tianna Mamalick. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Tianna , so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?
I believe in slow, long-term growth and like my beliefs, I came into my passion the same way.
I was not a quiet kid. I talked a lot—a lot—and exuded big energy, but I didn’t always feel seen.
I had a few major moves growing up, and those moves meant starting over. My brother also got a lot of attention (but not the good kind), so I became the one who had to handle everything. I got good grades, made sure my parents were supported, and got a job to make my own money.
As I grew in my career, I knew I wanted to help people but not in the conventional way doctors or counsellors do. I wanted to support people through their passions and their love for life.
I’m a passionate person, and I love speaking to other people who feel the same.
While I was in university for finance, I took my first marketing course and on day one, I was hooked. Dropped right in my lap was an opportunity to amplify the voices of entrepreneurs—people who passionately care about what they do.
Through everything life has thrown my way, I’ve learned that I value honesty, passion, and obsession over the things you love. My purpose is helping people be seen for what they truly love to do.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I’m the founder of SMB Marketing, an SEO and paid ads agency that works with small business owners—especially women—who are ready to get seen online without relying on the social media algorithm.
I studied finance in university thinking that’s what success looked like, but it never felt right. When I took my first marketing course, something clicked. It was the first time I saw how strategy, storytelling, and impact could come together—and I’ve been obsessed ever since.
What makes my work special is that it’s not just about rankings or traffic it’s about helping people feel seen for the work they truly love to do. Most of my clients are women in their first few years of business, juggling everything themselves, and trying to turn their passion into something sustainable. I help them get clear on their keywords, build strategies that actually convert, and grow in a way that doesn’t burn them out.
One of the core methods I teach is something I developed called the Keyword Opportunity Method. Instead of just chasing high-volume keywords, I help clients identify search terms based on the best return for their effort. By dividing keyword volume by difficulty, I show them where their time and energy will have the most impact so they stop wasting time on content that won’t rank and start attracting the right traffic faster.
Right now, I’m focused on growing SMB Marketing and building an SEO course called Master SEO, which teaches small business owners (or their VAs!) how to do their own SEO. I also work one-on-one with clients on SEO, Google Ads, and Meta ads, building funnels that bring in real leads.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
The three qualities I think helped me the most are: Perseverance and my ability to keep trying even when I learn a hard lesson or fail.
Passion which helps me fall in love and feel excited about everything I take on.
And lat but not least:
Honesty, because everyone deserves honesty even when it’s not what you want to hear.
Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
I am always looking for other amazing business owners to collaborate with. In this stage of business my focus is on creating good content and conversations around marketing and how it is changing. I am looking for business owners who like to speak on branding, SEO, the inclusion of AI in marketing, and paid ads. I am also looking to collaborate with people within my field who have different views on SEO!
