We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Tiara Bryant. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Tiara below.
Hi Tiara, thank you for being such a positive, uplifting person. We’ve noticed that so many of the successful folks we’ve had the good fortune of connecting with have high levels of optimism and so we’d love to hear about your optimism and where you think it comes from.
My optimism is rooted in gratitude—I’m a gratitude enthusiast and joy advocate, and I infuse this mindset into everything I do at Royal Treatment with Tiara. Even my signature closes with “In Gratitude.” With a background in healthcare, I’ve worked as a unit clerk, patient tech, patient advocate, and case manager supporting people in some of life’s most challenging moments, from oncology patients to individuals overcoming addiction post-incarceration. After years of guiding people through trauma and transition, I’ve grown so much gratitude for life and felt called to bring my vibrant, authentic energy to moments of love, joy, and new beginnings. One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned in the wedding industry is that the only way to stand out in a sea of sameness is to lean into your uniqueness. A wedding coach once told me to make my holistic mindset an imprint on my business—not just in how I serve my couples, but in how I engage with vendors and run my company. So now, gratitude is embedded in my signature client experience. Every meeting begins with a gratitude check-in—a simple yet powerful moment for couples to pause, reflect, and share something they’re grateful for. As wedding planning intensifies, this practice becomes an anchor, helping them slow down and stay present. Gratitude is also woven into the ceremony itself. I lead couples and guests in a collective moment of gratitude, taking a deep breath together to soak in the significance of the day, the presence of loved ones, and the excitement of their next chapter. It’s a small but deeply meaningful touch that makes the ceremony feel more intentional, connected, and unforgettable. For business owners, gratitude isn’t just a feel-good exercise—it’s a powerful mindset shift that fosters resilience, connection, and purpose. Whether we’re celebrating wins or learning from challenges, there’s always an opportunity to express gratitude. And for me, that’s where my optimism thrives.
Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
Hey, I’m Tiara Bryant, the owner and lead officiant of Royal Treatment with Tiara, New Jersey’s premier professional wedding officiant service. I specialize in crafting vibrantly authentic ceremonies that feel like a true reflection of my couples—modern, meaningful, and worth capturing. I began officiating on 2/22/22, and from that moment, I was stuck like glue. There’s something significantly special about guiding couples to “I do”—not just as an officiant, but as a storyteller who brings their journey to matrimony to life. Weddings often come with societal pressure, outdated traditions, and misconceptions about what a ceremony “should” look like. At Royal Treatment with Tiara, I give couples permission to break the mold—to design a ceremony that reflects their quirks, their love story, and their vision, not their parents’, siblings’, or cousins’ weddings. My storytelling style is whimsical, lighthearted, romantic, and sprinkled with just the right touch of humor. I don’t just celebrate that you found love—but highlight the reasons why you fell in love, the milestones you’ve conquered, and the vision you’re building for marriage. The Royal Treatment means trusting me to take the reins so you can fully immerse yourself in your heartfelt ceremony. My favorite moment in any ceremony is witnessing the couple hear their love story for the first time, alongside their guests, as if they were watching the premiere of their own romance because the ceremony should feel like a celebration, not just another part of the wedding production. Too often, the wedding industry prioritizes the guest experience over the couple’s, but I believe you and your fiancé are the true guests of honor. Plus it’s cool to hear your story written by me. What I appreciate most about officiating is the details and lasting moments we create, so much so I have decided to host my first Valentine’s Day event called For The Lovers. It is a boutique Valentine’s Day elopement experience hosted at Eventology Events in Middlesex New Jersey. This is for couples who are looking for intimate, upscale, and elegant space for an elopement, vow renewal, a commitment ceremony or even a proposal. We are offering a 60 minute private venue, lavishly and gorgeously decorated with your professional officiant (ME) for up to 10 guest to witness and enjoy your first dance, a cake cutting, an audio guestbook and an iPad photo booth, including a newlywed gift basket and champagne or cider toast poured by our professional bartender with additional custom upgrades available. We have five time slots only and encourage RSVPs as they close February 7, 2025.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
I live by three words: Boldness, Proximity, and Leverage. These qualities have propelled my business forward in ways I never imagined, opening doors to opportunities, connections, and clarity—all because I made intentional moves in these three areas.
1. Boldness – Lead With the Best-Case Scenario & Shoot Your Shot
Stepping into business ownership requires more than just having an idea—it demands courage, confidence, and faith. It’s one thing to talk about a product or service; it’s another to create it, introduce it to the market, and successfully convert it into sales. Each step requires boldness. One of the best mindset shifts I’ve embraced is leading with the best-case scenario. Too often, we let fear hold us back, assuming rejection or failure before we even try. But what if it works? What if the opportunity says yes? In 2022, I applied for the WeddingPro Fellowship for Change, an exclusive program providing mentorship, education, and connections in the wedding industry. I knew I was going up against hundreds of other applicants but I chose to bet on myself. And in 2023, I was accepted into the cohort—a transformative experience that expanded my knowledge, offerings, and business. That’s the power of boldness. The opportunities you want won’t just land in your lap—you have to put yourself in position to receive them. Shoot your shot. Apply for the fellowship, pitch the idea, send the email. The worst that can happen? A “no.” The best that can happen? A door that changes everything.
2. Proximity – Get in the Right Rooms
Success isn’t just about what you know—it’s about who you surround yourself with. Proximity to greatness breeds greatness. When you position yourself in spaces with professionals who have the experience, longevity, and accolades you aspire to achieve, you elevate by association. I’ve intentionally placed myself in rooms where wedding industry leaders, educators, and high-achieving entrepreneurs gather. Being in these spaces has allowed me to absorb game-changing insights, build valuable relationships, and push myself beyond what I thought was possible. Your network shapes your net worth—so choose your circles wisely. Whether it’s fellow officiants, wedding professionals, or business strategists—because every conversation, every connection, and every shared experience becomes a catalyst for growth. This mindset is also why I co-created Filtered Thru Coffee, a podcast with Rev. Whittney Marie (@revidoofficiating), where we bring candid wedding conversations brewed with authenticity and culture. We wanted to create a space for honest, unfiltered discussions about wedding planning, officiating, and the experiences that shape melanated weddings. It’s a space that not only educates couples and wedding pros but also fosters deeper conversations about culture, storytelling, and the evolving wedding landscape. I believe in the power of being in the right spaces with the right people—because that’s where growth, collaboration, and transformation happen.

3. Leverage – Maximize Every Opportunity
Opportunities come to those who recognize them, act on them, and maximize them. And when you don’t see what you need, creating it yourself. In my journey as an officiant, I noticed a gap in officiant education and community. While there were networking spaces for planners, florists, and photographers, officiants often lacked a dedicated space to learn, grow, and connect. Instead of waiting for someone else to build it, I founded The Wedding Officiant Academy (WOA) and co-run with Norman Graham (@wedbynorm), creating a professional network for officiants nationwide.
WOA now serves a community of over 3,000 officiants and growing across all platforms, offering a safe space for learning, collaboration, and support. We host monthly virtual socials, facilitate discussions in a thriving Facebook group, and provide an officiant resource hub with digital products, templates, and business tools designed to elevate the craft, creativity, and confidence of officiants at every experience level. Officiants come together to share tips, strategies, and insights, creating a collective learning experience that helps everyone sharpen their skills and build successful businesses. Join our community at stan.store/weddingofficiantacademy. The only difference between those who elevate and those who stay stagnant is who took action when the opportunity presented itself.
As we end our chat, is there a book you can leave people with that’s been meaningful to you and your development?
One of the most impactful books I’ve read is Atomic Habits by James Clear. This book completely transformed the way I think about personal development, productivity, and long-term success—and the best part? The changes I made in my daily life had a residual impact on every aspect of my business and career.
What I love about Atomic Habits is how it breaks down the science of habits and behavior change in a way that’s simple, practical, and immediately applicable. It’s not just about “motivation”—it’s about rewiring your brain, reversing negative dopamine feedback loops, and designing an environment that naturally supports success. Some of the biggest gems that stuck with me:
The Law of Least Effort – Make the right actions as easy as possible by setting up your environment for success. Example: Before ending my workday, I set up my desk and outline my priorities for the next day. When I start work in the morning, I don’t waste energy figuring out what to do—I just dive in.
Habit Stacking – Pairing a new habit with an existing one makes it easier to build consistency. Example: I wanted to read more, so I stacked the habit—10 pages a day—with my morning coffee. That simple shift turned reading into a daily ritual instead of a “when I have time” task.
Make It Unattractive – Increase friction around bad habits so they become less appealing. Example: I used to struggle with hitting snooze, so I started placing my alarm across the room. Now, I’m forced to physically get out of bed, which naturally wakes me up and keeps me from falling back into old patterns.
These lessons have completely reshaped how I approach discipline, growth, and success. Whether it’s in my personal habits, my officiant business, or even how I show up for my clients, I’ve learned that small, intentional changes compound into massive results over time.
For anyone looking to break bad habits, build better ones, and design a life (or business) that runs more efficiently—this book is a game-changer.
