Meet Tiara Mcgriff

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Tiara Mcgriff. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Tiara, so great to have you with us and we want to jump right into a really important question. In recent years, it’s become so clear that we’re living through a time where so many folks are lacking self-confidence and self-esteem. So, we’d love to hear about your journey and how you developed your self-confidence and self-esteem.

Honestly, I developed my confidence and self-esteem when I decided that I want better for myself. True story, I was sitting on the sofa one morning with my feet crossed, and a thought came to me: How can I give my best if, I’m not at my best? You see, self-esteem is like an onion- you must peel back the layers in order to level up in confidence. Developing in these two areas required me to first make a conscious decision to change my course of direction. Second, I needed to align my goals with who I envisioned myself to become and where I see myself going. Next, I had to commit to the process and vow to never give up on myself. Then, I had to shift my old mindset and block out any negative thoughts or energy that tried to hold me back from being my true self. Once I did this, I had to do the inner work- the kind of soul-searching that takes courage to move forward in order to gain understanding and uncover the deeper truths about myself which forced me to level up. Finally, implementing these practices daily helped to boost my confidence and self-esteem immediately, yielding the life-changing results that I so desperately needed. This was transformational.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

I am a proud boy mom, times two, born and raised in the beautiful, sunny city of Jacksonville, Florida. I love to empower, inspire, support and uplift others, especially single moms. I am currently focused on my professions both as a style coach and business owner of Tiara’s Custom Imagery- A style coaching brand that creates the best suitable balance for single mom’s professional and social success, plus more. I’m now, accepting clients who’s ready to take a bold step in their style journey towards a new direction. I also seek clients who desire a transformation like no other, that need life-long change and are ready to work for it. Listen, if you ever start to think for a second that it’s time for you to level up then, you’re right and now is the time.

Someone once asked me: “Why single moms??” Honestly, I didn’t know how to fully answer that question back then but, I do now. What I find to be most special about working with single moms is that I get to support a group of iconic women that have unique style stories and for the most part, experience similar challenges in life. Oftentimes, these moms are overlooked, undervalued and viewed as “just a mom.” As a style coach, I want to help them convey more of who they truly are unapologetically to the world. In addition, what I really want you to know is that style is more than just about the clothes that we choose to put on, and it goes way beyond face value. Style is essentially a form of art- an outward expression of our inner selves to the world. It’s how we adorn our sacred images, it reflects our daily way of living and our attitudes- the way in which we choose to carry ourselves. Style is an absolute form of self-care, and its benefits are mind stimulating, confidence boosting and ultimately life transforming.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

As I sit here and reflect on my past experiences, relationships, triumphs and failures, I would have to say the three qualities that were most impactful in my journey were- honesty, humility and resilience. If you are embarking on your journey to greatness then, you should know that it’s going to take you first, being honest with yourself about everything. This looks like conducting a self-assessment, every once in a while, to ask the right questions in order for you to refocus, realign and improve. Second, you have to always remember where you come from and those who have helped you along the way. Reflecting on these keeps you humble and grateful. Third, be resilient, no matter what your current situation is or how hard the road ahead may seem, exercise your faith and keep pushing forward… never giving up. In addition to these, remember why you got started on your path, always give yourself grace when needed and learn to celebrate each win-big or small.

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?

I do look forward to collaborating with professionals from other complementary industries. Key professionals that I consider working with are fitness coaches/personal trainers, hair stylists and colorists, makeup artists, photographers/videographers, therapists or wellness coaches, boutique owners or fashion retailers, life coaches and even, nutritionists. Anyone reading this who’s interested in working with me can preferably contact me via email: [email protected] or connect with me on all of my social media platforms.
