We recently connected with Tiera and have shared our conversation below.
Tiera, we’re thrilled to have you sharing your thoughts and lessons with our community. So, for folks who are at a stage in their life or career where they are trying to be more resilient, can you share where you get your resilience from?
I think since a little girl I have always been the one to be brave, to take the risk even when I am not sure of the outcome and this has opened many doors for me! Being brave is an attribute to resilience because you can’t be resilient without challenge and you can’t be overcome challenge without being brave.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I am the inspirationalist of the world if that’s even a word lol I pride myself on encouraging women and young girls across the world through my stationery products. I recently released grief journals to help people through their grief process as they navigate through their “new normal” and with that my journals are in funeral homes across metro Detroit which I am super proud of!

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
The three skills that I believe were most impactful to my journey is bravery, consistency, and mistakes. I say this because mistakes can be looked at as a bad thing but you have to make them to correct where you’re going and also to pass knowledge down to those coming behind you. Another note to make is to not wait until everything is perfect. Start with what you have and keep going because that is how you grow.

What do you do when you feel overwhelmed? Any advice or strategies?
I stop whatever I am doing and allow my mind to come down from the overload of thoughts and feelings and once I am able to process everything, I pick back up but doing one thing at a time.
