We recently connected with Tiera Briggs and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have Tiera with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from?
I get my work ethic from my mother and many of the other strong women in my family. My mother worked late into the night even on weekends to make ends meet and keep us in a good neighborhood with good schools. She was looking ahead to the future in setting her children up for future success, by insisting we go to good schools.
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I run Sweet Siren Bakery, where we specialize in custom desserts like birthday cakes, wrdding cakes, cupcakes, cakepopss, and decorated sugar cookies. We also offer things like XL brownies, XL cookies, cupcakes, and macarons. My favorite part of what I do is seeing people smile—sometimes even squeal—when they see their custom dessert for the first time. Knowing I’ve helped make their celebration extra special is what makes this work so rewarding.
Something else I really enjoy is teaching others how to decorate desserts. We’ve been offering cookie decorating classes for a while now, and we recently added cake decorating classes, which have been a big hit! It’s so much fun to watch people try something new and get excited about what they create.
Right now, I’m working on expanding our menu and trying out new ideas with input from our customers. For example, we ran a poll on social media to let our followers suggest a new cookie flavor, and it’s been great to see what people come up with.
Overall, I love what I do because it’s about more than just desserts—it’s about making people happy and being part of their special moments. That’s what Sweet Siren Bakery is all about.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Being resilient is the number one thing I believe has kept me open and fighting to move forward. Being “particular” as it were. “Good enough” are two words you will rarely if ever here me say and friendly. People will want to help you and support you if you are a decent person who is friendly and helpful towards others
How can folks who want to work with you connect?
I am looking for restaurants and coffee houses amongst other businesses who would like to carry my baked goods in their places of business. My wholesale prices are great and the product they will be getting to pass on to their customers is even better. I know often businesses get their products from other big box stores like Costco because the price but for those that are worried about flavor and real ingredients I definitely believe my products can’t be beat
