We recently connected with Tierra Lyle and have shared our conversation below.
Tierra, thank you so much for making time for us today. We can’t wait to dive into your story and the lessons you’ve learned along the way, but maybe we can start with something foundational to your success. How have you gone about developing your ability to communicate effectively?
I don’t know if I necessarily “developed” the ability to communicate effectively; I think I was just pushed into having to know how to communicate effectively, quickly from experience. What I mean by that, is I’ve experienced a lot of moments when I was younger that challenged me to be passive or passive-aggressive, or where I just didn’t say what I wanted to altogether, but eventually I became really frustrated with myself when I saw how doing that affected me and affected the relationships I had with others. I had a decision to make, either speak up and say what I mean, or be misunderstood, overlooked and belittled. These were perpetual instances that would occur regularly for me at a young age – at school, with friends, family, and sometimes even teachers! (I had a lot of moments from the school I attended throughout my childhood where teachers would talk or address you in condescending tones and intimidate you.) Then, I would go home and battle dwelling on what I should’ve, could’ve, would’ve said or did. Meanwhile, those people are at home not thinking twice about what happened, sound asleep in their beds. Half the time, they barely remember the encounter when you bring it up or how it affected you and how they treated you, or they’re just “acting” like they don’t remember. A saying my family and I refer to as, “having amnesia”, or we’ll say, “People love to get amnesia real quick.” Over time, as I got older, I learned through the grace of God, you have to speak up and speak your truth. Aside from learning this, I have been told I’m naturally articulate when it comes to communication, however; when you’ve had many moments by yourself to dwell on conversations that went wrong with others, or have had to battle feeling misunderstood and just dealing with life instances that come from human interactions, eventually you have plenty of time to practice how you would express and explain yourself. I think if more people took more time to reflect on the meanings behind conversations, (not to dwell on them to the point of disturbing your peace), but more so just taking moments to pause on the why’s and why not’s, focus on communication as a whole, and not being afraid to say how we really feel behind those moments, I think we would all communicate more effectively.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I moved to Los Angeles, CA a year ago to pursue my profession of content creation full-time. I am originally from Mississippi, and I have been pursuing content creation for 6 years! What began as a camera and a dream, is now a full-time career that is launching me into marketing + PR too! This has been such an incredible and successful journey, and a lot of that has to do with my current position as full-time Creative Strategist at the EV rideshare transportation company, Tower Mobility of Los Angeles. I am currently leading the marketing department, social media management & infrastructure, all brand strategies, and all brand efforts for the company! I am very grateful to the founders, Daniel Munoz and Andres Munoz, for entrusting me with this role and the vision of their company. I can’t wait to see what is next in store for myself as a creator and for the substantial growth of Tower Mobility’s brand.
Aside from that, some more projects I’m currently working on is partnering again with long-term friend, Pocket Gems Gaming, for the launch of their newest mobile gaming app, Episode: Reality Stars, and I’ve currently accepted invitation to Temu’s Influencer & Affiliate Program! These are collaborations I’m really glad to be apart of!
Outside of content creation, I still have a major passion to pursue fashion design & the development of my own brand. However, this is definitely in the caterpillar stage right now, so baby steps! Also, I would love to branch out into acting & the film industry. I recently made an account on Backstage.com and I am seeking roles to help land me into the world of acting! Hopefully, going into the new year of 2026, I hope to be further along in the acting world and in the process of building my own fashion brand soon.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
The three qualities that were most impactful in my journey are my faith, my community, and my upbringing. I say that because without God first, I know I wouldn’t have made it this far. The Lord is the one who gives you the dream and the gift in the first place. As for my community and upbringing, I find so much value in the way I was raised, I think it helped shape my work ethic and determination, along with the strong people in my family who encourage me to pursue my dreams.
For folks who are early in their journey, my advice is simple: Keep God first in everything you’re doing. If God isn’t first in it, then it’s not worth pursing – it never is. I think those who are early in their journey will learn rather quickly that the Lord is the blue print for everything you’re doing. It’s just like the saying, “when you tell God your plans, He laughs.” If Jesus ain’t on the team, you are not going to make it. I know some might say, “well there are people who are of the world but still successful…”, and my answer to that is that even people who don’t know God can still be granted nice things. Romans 11:29 states, “For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance.” You are gifted and God gives the gift, but just because you use that gift doesn’t mean God is the one giving you the “reward” for it. Even the devil tempted Jesus by promising Him all the kingdoms if he had chose to worship him instead. Of course you may be talented, but who are you using that talent for? And who is giving you the reward for it?
I know for some people that may be a little “too deep” but your destiny and dreams are JUST that deep! Yet, we wonder why there are so many people with no peace about what direction to go in for their life, always unsure of their purpose and whether to go left or right, and always feeling unfulfilled no matter what they do, but the whole time they should be seeking God for their purpose!

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
Yes! I am always looking for more, bigger partnerships and collaborations! I have a lot of experience with various different niches of brands that have reached out for collaborations, like mobile gaming companies, retail/fashion brands, jewelry brands, student organizations, dating apps, hair & wig companies, now transportation companies (Tower Mobility), etc. I’ve worked with a lot of different brands! Therefore, I’m open and flexible to work with different types of businesses. I don’t necessarily have a specific niche that I rather work with specifically, I love exploring working with different brands of different kinds because I have a lot of fun with doing different things for videos. I think I would probably get bored if I only stuck to a specific niche of a brand when it comes to collaborations. My most well-known videos are skit and comedy niche style videos, and I think almost anything can be promoted or embodied to be funny, and still be a service or brand that my audience will find interest in trying out or would want to be introduced to.
However, when it comes to brands, I am looking to work with businesses that are willing to compensate me my rate for my work. My most serious and bigger projects came from brands that were willing to pay me for my work based on my experience overall as a content creator in the industry for the past six years. As someone who has been creating content for six years, has amassed 100k follows with her social media audiences combined, and has a leadership, creative role within a scalable, w2 business, anything below $500 USD a video is too low. If a brand cannot guarantee $500 to work together, half the time the email remains unread or gets rejected. (The only exception I will rarely make is if it is a gifting opportunity with a VERY-well known brand that I’m already passionate about, or if it’s a jewelry brand gifting me for free and the jewelry is valued at $500 or more. Those are the only exceptions.) Unless that brand is able to meet me at my worth, I have a made up mind that I will not work with them. I’ve put a lot of work into building my brand as a creator and I don’t feel I should just be putting up my work for almost free for others to keep, and market as their own for barely any compensation. It is not fair to me as a creator or as a face for that brand, and it goes both ways. It wouldn’t be fair to a brand for me to not deliver my best work, but because I’m 100% passionate about my career, providing a great video will always be my standard! – no matter what.
