Meet Tierra West

We recently connected with Tierra West and have shared our conversation below.

Tierra, we are so appreciative of you taking the time to open up about the extremely important, albeit personal, topic of mental health. Can you talk to us about your journey and how you were able to overcome the challenges related to mental issues? For readers, please note this is not medical advice, we are not doctors, you should always consult professionals for advice and that this is merely one person sharing their story and experience.

Whew—mental health journeys are no joke, but God. First and foremost, it’s been faith for me—getting closer to God has been the anchor in the chaos. There’s a peace He gives that no therapy session or self-help book could ever fully replicate (though I still love both!).

Therapy has also been a game changer—but let me be real: it took me six or seven therapists before I found “the one.” Healing isn’t one-size-fits-all, and neither is the person guiding you through it. EMDR, especially, cracked open some healing I didn’t even know I needed. That, paired with consistency (even on the days I didn’t want to show up), slowly shifted things.

And then—my faith community. My people. They’ve cried with me, prayed over me, reminded me who I am when I forgot. There’s something holy about community that won’t let you fall apart in silence. They show up, they speak life, and they sit in the dark with you until the light comes back on.

So how have I persisted? Honestly, by clinging to God, not giving up on therapy even when I wanted to ghost the whole process, and surrounding myself with people who carry hope when I can’t. It’s messy, but it’s sacred.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

I’m the proud Owner-Operator of La Rosa Event Rentals LLC, where we believe every celebration deserves a touch of elegance—and a splash of fun! We specialize in elevating events with standout pieces like throne chairs, champagne walls, and mobile bartending services that keep the good vibes flowing. And this summer, we’re thrilled to add bouncy houses to the inventory!

What I love most about this business is that every day is a party for someone—and that energy is contagious. Whether it’s a wedding, baby shower, birthday, or corporate mixer, I get to play a part in creating unforgettable moments. What’s even more special is the people I’ve met along the way. This work has opened doors to new relationships, meaningful connections, and a growing network I never imagined when I first started.

La Rosa Event Rentals isn’t just about furniture and services—it’s about bringing people together and celebrating life’s big (and small) moments with style.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Looking back, three things have made the biggest impact on my journey: believing in my ideas, starting small but strategically, and staying open to learning.

First—say yes to your idea. Don’t talk yourself out of it before it has a chance to live. I went into this business with a simple vision: I wanted a side hustle that felt purposeful, something I could grow without going into debt, with low risk and a manageable buy-in. I didn’t have all the answers—but I had the idea, and I said yes to it. If you constantly dismiss your ideas, they’ll always stay just that: ideas.

Second—study the industry. Even with a small start, take the time to understand your space. Learn the trends, the needs, and the pain points. That knowledge gave me the confidence to move wisely instead of impulsively.

And third—build relationships. Network genuinely. The connections you make can open doors, provide guidance, and remind you you’re not alone on this path. Some of the most meaningful support I’ve received has come from colleagues I’ve met in the industry.

For anyone just beginning—don’t rush perfection. Focus on progress. Start where you are, say yes to the spark, and trust that with consistency and faith, it can grow into something beyond what you imagined.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?

Yes, yes, yes—we’re always looking for amazing people to collaborate with, especially behind the bar!

If you’re a licensed, TIPS-certified bartender who knows how to shake, stir, and serve with style, we want to hear from you. Bonus points if you’ve got event experience and know how to bring good vibes to the party!

At La Rosa Event Rentals, we believe every event should be memorable—and that starts with a great team. So if you’re fun, professional, and love being part of the celebration, slide into our DMs or reach out through email. Let’s make magic (and cocktails) together!
