We were lucky to catch up with Tiffany Ansick recently and have shared our conversation below.
Tiffany, so great to have you with us and thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts with the community. So, let’s jump into something that stops so many people from going after their dreams – haters, nay-sayers, etc. We’d love to hear about how you dealt with that and persisted on your path.
I am optimistic. I feel that having nay-sayers, it motivates me to push harder, educate myself more, and come out on top. Nothing pushes me harder than people saying I can’t do something. I become more determined to educate myself more and learn new techniques to be better.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Be open to opportunity, be open to creative opportunities and be willing to learn from your mistakes. Be willing to take accountability when you’ve done wrong. Be willing to have humility, integrity, and be kind. Those things early on really set you up for success.
Who is your ideal client or what sort of characteristics would make someone an ideal client for you?
My ideal client is someone who trusts the process, allows me to be inspired by colors and ideas and perform them. Ideally I’m able to do what I want on their hair. Whether it’s blonding. Fashion colors, pops of fashion colors, or just a basic root retouch and new toner.
