We were lucky to catch up with Tiffany DaSilva recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have Tiffany with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from?
My entire work ethic comes from my Brazilian family’s background. Specifically my mom. She immigrated here from Brazil and within a few years became a top manager at one of the biggest companies at the time. Without speaking any English…
Throughout my life, I have watched her start multiple businesses, create a million dollar real estate portfolio, and still have time to take my brother and I to theme parks on the weekends.
Watching all of these little moments since a young girl, they have shaped me into the woman I am today. I have learned that nothing is free and if you put your 100% into something, it will reward you regardless.
That led to me starting posting on my social media channels 5 years ago, While working 3 jobs. I would create my own schedule to post and made sure i treated it like my biggest responsibility.
Fast forward to today, I have created 2 remarkable brands that not only help me in an elevator pitch, but they have opened up so many doors for me that I never could have imagined.
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
My story is like a book where the chapters are out of order. I am typically known for doing too many things all at once, & hopefully still succeeding at them. Some of my current business ventured include my 2 social media pages @tiiffxny & @beautyandabuilder.
One of my biggest passions is beauty and travel, which led me to create my @tiiffxny brand. Since I met my husband, we have made it a goal to visit all of the countries in the world. While for him its vacation, for me its about sharing the experiences online in a realistic way to encourage people to travel and enjoy life more. Not to mention for me its a great reason to dress up and look and feel your best, which is where I love sharing my beauty secrets during those adventures.
To fund my passions, because they are expensive, I decided to run in my mothers footsteps and begin investing in real estate. It sounds glamorous, however on my @beautyandabuilder page, I share the realities of investing, what the first few investments look like, how to begin investing, & tons of educational content to help others achieve financial freedom.
With all of my experience in real estate, I decided to become a loan officer as well to be able to help people 1 on 1 during the hardest hurdle of investing. Along with that I also began focusing on the education aspect, which is leading me to create my own tailored course for anyone who wants to get started + opportunities to work together!
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
my 3 skills or areas of knowledge that got me here today is without a doubt, investing in real estate, having a creative side to help advertise and create content, & being a workaholic.
If anyone wants to start any business, the best skill to have is to be able to market the product. I would always encourage anyone to do free webinars, youtube videos, or any resource online that you can get your hand on to learn creative marketing strategies. Specifically newer methods like AI and Social media.
Which leads into investing in real estate too where you need to know how to market yourself to investors, and the house to tenants, or potential buyers. When it comes to investing however, there are so many areas & skills that you should learn a few, get a hand of them, and the other topics you aren’t good at, or maybe aren’t a fan of, you hire out to someone who does it better than you.
One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
I am always looking to collaborate and network with new people. It actually became a goal of mine this month to have a “coffee date” with 1 person a week, & be able to share something valuable that I can offer to them.
With that I have gained tons of new connections not only for my mortgage business, but I have people wanting to invest with me and don’t quite have the skills to get started so I help them take care of that and even joined them on a few deals!
I also love collaborating on projects and just being able to learn from each other because if you learn everything by yourself you can only consume so much information, while if you’re always exchanging info with other people, you’re learning at x2, x5, x10 speed!
