We were lucky to catch up with Tiffany Fuller recently and have shared our conversation below.
Tiffany, so great to have you with us today. There are so many topics we want to ask you about, but perhaps the one we can start with is burnout. How have you overcome or avoided burnout?
I’m so glad you guys asked this question, simply because the most recent obstacle I overcame was putting myself back out there on social media. I took a necessary break to catch up with life, get closer to God, and figure out what my next steps were for the future. I was working a full-time job, managing a business, and trying to maintain an active social life. It all became overwhelming! I challenge all entrepreneurs and small business owners to take their mental and physical health seriously.
Real Life was moving so fast and my primary focus was promoting my business on social media and making content that I reached a point where making content became less enjoyable and more forced. It was super hard for me to take that break not only because it’s what I love to do but I had to consider possible slow sales, missed brand collaborations, loss of followers. All which are huge factors for any upcoming influencer.
I chose to lean on God during that time as anyone should. Now I’m back and I’m better and I know God is about to blow my mind.
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I started my business 6 years ago and it will always be one of the best decisions I made. I always knew I would be involved in the beauty industry even as a little girl, and I know that’s so cliche to say but it’s true. I always enjoyed getting my hair done, taking care of my skin, staying active, dressing in nice clothes, fashion, getting my nails done. Anything to make me look prettier! I truly don’t say that in a conceited way but when you look good, you feel good. Ladies, can you attest? How many times have you realized your day isn’t bad you just need your hair done? I know this! Im literally just a girl is such a true statement. Im an advocate for self care and I encourage it daily.
In my 6 years of business I realized I love hair and it will always be one of my passions but I know I have so much more to offer. I plan on branching out in different industries to showcase my personality and creativity. In hopes of becoming a representative for different brands and companies, all while still promoting Hustle Hair.
Look forward to new opportunities, better marketing, and big collaborations!!
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
As a business owner, I take pride in being professional, honest , and humble. When someone mentions Hustle Hair I want them to speak highly about my product and my name. Great customer service is a top priority for me. As a professional I want to maintain a customer friendly relationship with all of my customers.
Honesty, just because that’s what’s morally right to do and when you are working with people and money, honesty will always be the best approach.
Lastly, always be humble. Once this skill is mastered so many doors will open. Always be open to being taught, be a sponge for new information.
All of these can be achieved by practice, it will take time. Remember, no one is perfect!
One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
YES,YES,YES and YES again! I am all about collaboration. I enjoy working with other like-minded individuals who are ready to broadcast their creativity and expand their brand. I have actually worked with other stylist in my area to promote their brand individually as well as collaborate with different stylist to bring awareness of any deals , sales, or new items we are currently offering. Also, I don’t just limit myself to only working with people in the beauty industry. I have A LOT of personality and I am open to working with different brands. I want my name to be relevant in various industries. I prefer contact by email/phone. My business email and phone number are all located on my social media platforms. Let’s work!
