Meet Tiffany Gong

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Tiffany Gong. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Tiffany, we’re so excited for our community to get to know you and learn from your journey and the wisdom you’ve acquired over time. Let’s kick things off with a discussion on self-confidence and self-esteem. How did you develop yours?

A lot of it stems from spending time by myself. When I studied abroad in Seoul, South Korea in 2017, I had a big desire and curiosity to explore, but I didn’t know anyone in the city. I found myself planning out spontaneous day trips, trying out new restaurants, attending dance classes, and crusading around town on my own.

I had my own reservations at first (what will others think of me? is it awkward if I sit here by myself?), but what started off as by force (hanging out alone as I didn’t know anyone in a foreign country) ended up leading me to an embodied appreciation for solo adventure, which has grown exponentially till this day.

In fact, I often prefer it as I get to have my own experience without being overly conscious and/or feeling responsible of others’ experience. It also opens me up to opportunities, people, and fated encounters that I may not have had if I were in the company of another.

When I was younger, I always needed a friend to accompany me to a new spot or experience, and if I couldn’t find anyone to go with, I wouldn’t go at all. Now, I book the ticket, make the reservation, and initiate my own experiences in my life without needing to rely on anyone else. Eating alone at restaurants is normal. Bringing my guitar to parks and serenading the birds, bees, & the trees with song is normal. Going out to events on my own is normal. (in fact, these are all more than normal to me! they’re life giving!)

This self-sustainability, joy, & empowerment I feel and experience on my own allows me to take risks in my craft and have a f*k it mentality more often than not. I follow where my heart calls me to go, even if it may not make sense in the moment. I’m a huge proponent of doing what you want to do and not caring about what anyone else thinks, as everyone else is too busy caring about themselves!

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

I’m a breathwork facilitator, artist, & founder of Intrabreath, a breathwork community designed to help individuals ignite inner transformation for outer expansion.

Before I had my first encounter with breathwork, I knew I wanted to pursue a career in the healing arts. I considered yoga or sound healing, but neither really spoke to my soul– until I found breathwork!

I had no idea what to expect before I went into my first breathwork session, and I ended up having the biggest primal cry that washed away & released copious amounts of trauma that I had no idea still existed in my body at that time. The physical sensations were immense- I’d been meditating for years before that moment, but nothing compared to what I felt in that single breathwork session.

The second I got up from that session, there was zero doubt in my mind that this is what I wanted to do- what I needed to do.

I signed up for a teacher training course and got certified not long after, and started teaching classes and private sessions & events. I’m so blessed to do what I love and when I say that, I mean it with my entire heart and soul.

Facilitating classes and holding space for such powerful transformation to occur- that stuff is MAGICAL. I am healed in the process of holding space. Being a witness to the individuals that show up and put in the work to evolve and transmute energy into something usable & powerful is priceless.

I always say that “The class I teach is the class I want to take”. With that, my classes aren’t soley focused on just the breathwork practice, where students show up, breathe, & go home. The sessions I facilitate are deeply heart-centered, holistic, and sensory experiences which activate the mind, body, soul to invite one’s past & future moments to exist deeply & expand within the present. My job is to provide the most safe and conducive environment for you to feel everything in order to heal.

That sounds like a lot, but I’m just getting started! Intrabreath has been growing rapidly in just the past few weeks alone and I’m so excited to say that there is so much coming up ahead! I’m working on providing teacher trainings for those interested in facilitating breathwork classes, new class structures (morning / afternoon classes, virtual classes, breathwork for introverts, tea ceremonies, nature offerings), and Intrabreath merchandise, just to name a few.

I’m a one woman team as of now, but I’ve been feeling so capable lately that I get excited riding off this wave of expansion for this beautiful community that is growing alongside me.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

1. Self knowledge 2. Knowledge about the natural world 3. Constant desire to deepen & expand these two areas.

My best advice is to get to know yourself through books, meditation, journaling, breathwork, therapy, the arts, and most of all, experience! Don’t be afraid to get out there, try, fail, love, have your heart broken, laugh, cry. At the end of the day, all these experiences build you up to be a better you.

Who is your ideal client or what sort of characteristics would make someone an ideal client for you?

My ideal client is someone who’s willing to put in the difficult but necessary work to grow and evolve. Someone who’s willing to learn how to be comfortable with uncomfortable feelings, knowing that everything worthwhile & meaningful in life is just on the other side of their comfort zone. Someone who’s capable & willing to dive into the transformative practice of breathwork with me, and is just as passionate about their own evolution & enlightenment as I am!
