Meet Tiffany Love

We were lucky to catch up with Tiffany Love recently and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Tiffany, really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?
I found my purpose because of what I grew up around. My grandmother was a seamstress, my mom went to college for Fashion Design and Merchandising and me, well I fell in love with watching the AirBrush Artists that I use to see on the side of the roads and at County/State fairs. It was the uniqueness of creating something that was of your own hands and that made others happy or excited to own something that wasn’t brand named that showed me this was a part of who I was, a unique creator. I have that same passion for the music I create as well, but that’s a different story.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I have my hands in a few buckets. The bucket I tend to stay in the most would be my crafting bucket. I’m always making something or organizing something even if it never makes it to my social media screen. It’s the same for my music. I currently make gaming music, but I’ve created music for myself too – it just never made my socials. The reason I keep focus on my creations, is because I use to put myself in a corner while hyping everyone else up to their hopes and dreams, but I never pushed myself. After meeting my husband, he helped me realize the talents I had and this pushed me to start pushing myself. However, because I kept myself in the dark for so long, it’s been a hard habit to break. So lately, I’ve been working and pushing myself more and more into showing what I create and my passion behind it. I want other’s to not only see my passion, but to also know that if they are going through the same, to shine light on yourself as much as you shine it on others.

My business, Royal Purple Creations is apart of my light. Here, I create a few unique items such as shirts, jewelry, home items (clocks and drink ware) as well as self-care items (soaps and body butters). Lately, I’ve been working on some Halloween and Fall items. My biggest project so far has been my partnership with Promise Epoxy to re-create our dinner table with epoxy, which is now available to preview on my instagram!” and then it can just end with the last line that’s already there. Working as a crafter keeps me excited because there’s always something new in it for me and the community that follows me!

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Three things I feel were most impactful in my journey (1) a quality – determination, (2) a skill – customer service and (3) an area of knowledge – my business knowledge. These three REALLY made a world of a difference going into entrepreneurship because I feel like I had a foundation with these. You have to be determined if you’re going to take on entrepreneurship because you are the owner, creator, shipper, marketing and your own bookkeeper. Starting out, you have be be resourceful of where you spend your start up costs, so a lot you end up learning on your own. These 3 things I felt gave me that extra push of confidence I needed to continue with my business.

My advice would be this, the same excitement and will power you started with, remember what it felt like. This is something you want to keep with you the entire drive along this long road of entrepreneurship. Also, any skills you learned before you started your own business, no matter what it is, see if it’s helpful to you in anyway, like customer service or even a tech background. If it can help save you time and money, USE THAT SKILL/KNOWLEDGE!

What do you do when you feel overwhelmed? Any advice or strategies?
Overwhelmed? What’s that? As an entrepreneur, I don’t think that’s in my vocabulary!

I’m totally joking. One of the biggest things I like to do when I get overwhelmed, is to stop what ever I’m doing and breathe… that’s it, just breathe.

So, sometimes, I will start a project and will get so engrossed in that project that I don’t know how to stop and take a break or just breathe. If you’re like me, then I suggest make a reminder on your phone or watch, whatever you use to remind yourself to take a breather. To meditate and clear your mind. Light a candle and relax for 5 – 10 minutes. Maybe even 15 depending on how long you were working or how hard your mind is working at the moment. But please, stop and just breathe.
