We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Tiffany Moore. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Tiffany below.
Tiffany, appreciate you making time for us and sharing your wisdom with the community. So many of us go through similar pain points throughout our journeys and so hearing about how others overcame obstacles can be helpful. One of those struggles is keeping creativity alive despite all the stresses, challenges and problems we might be dealing with. How do you keep your creativity alive?
Emmylou and Oliver and the people I meet help keep my creativity alive. When we are RVing we meet friends very easily. People are drawn in by these two kittens because of they are so cute and unique looking. When they first see them they dont know what they are. When Emmylou was a baby we were walking her on her leash at the beach and a couple came over and thought she was a squirrel. That interaction inspired me to put that in my second book along with a gentleman asking me (jokingly) if Oliver “was some kinda panda bear” its these cute little moments that make the story somewhat sweeter and its true!!! I have messages I want to give to children and adults, if that matters and what better way to relay them then through sweet animals.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I’m originally from a small town in Wyoming. I sold my business and moved to Arizona and my husband and I started Rving during the summer months to get away from the Az heat. I started posting cute stories about the kittens on my personal FB account. Pretty soon a friend of mine sends me a message saying I should start writing childrens books cause the stories were so cute. I thought to myself “Well how hard can that be?” Well it took me three years to get my first book published from start to finish cause I had no clue what I was doing. I think the hardest part of this process is trusting that the story is good enough. I did that with the second book and I’m sure ill do it with the third book I’m currently working on. Thats why it took me so long with the first book because I kept on hitting forks in the road and I would want to quit. Thank god my husband talked me out of it and I would continue on. Its such a wonderful feeling when you see a child light up when they are reading or being read to. These kittens bring so much joy to people.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Dont doubt yourself, Always finish what you start and Never give up on your dreams no matter what it is. Life is to short!!
Okay, so before we go, is there anyone you’d like to shoutout for the role they’ve played in helping you develop the essential skills or overcome challenges along the way?
My Husband Bryan for sure!!!! I dont know how many times I threw my hands up wanting to quit. Thinking what I was trying to do was silly. He always encouraged me and he’d say “If you just reach one child with your message then you are doing something right darlin” (hes southern) hahaha!! I have the best support system surrounding me. I have had nothing but positivity with these books. Im very blessed
