Meet Tiffany Roy

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Tiffany Roy. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Tiffany , looking forward to learning from your journey. You’ve got an amazing story and before we dive into that, let’s start with an important building block. Where do you get your work ethic from?

“My work ethic started at 10 years old, working weekends at a small neighborhood café, and I kept at it until I was 23, while also working in various customer service roles. I grew up with my father, a full-time entrepreneur running several businesses throughout Michigan, which gave me a love for ownership, empathy, and compassion. Watching my mother build a career in both healthcare and culinary arts also inspired me, especially as I learned to prepare food at a young age. All of that taught me discipline, the value of earning, and that people feel happiest when they’re well served—especially when food is involved.”

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

Roy Southern Cuisine was built on togetherness and a purpose to serve—not just on love, but with a deep commitment to creating generational wealth. Inspired by our shared passion for culinary arts, this business is rooted in a rich blend of spices and flavors that reflect who we are. Coming from two families with strong Southern heritage and Midwestern influence, we’ve fused both to offer something truly special and distinct to our clients.

Growing up in Detroit, we understand that food here isn’t just a meal—it’s a statement. Detroiters expect flavor, presentation, and authentic customer service. Roy Southern Cuisine delivers all of that and more. We’re honest, intentional, and we hold ourselves to high standards.

What excites us most about our journey is that we’re bringing something fresh to the table—new energy grounded in real-life experience, professional expertise, and a true understanding of what it takes to run a business with purpose. We want both our loyal and future clients to know: it’s okay to be new in the industry if you lead with excellence, passion, and respect for the craft.

Our mission is simple: to serve unforgettable food and deliver a red-carpet experience that leaves a lasting impression—one plate at a time.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Three core strengths that drive our business are culinary innovation, customer relationship management, and business operations. These skills ensure that every dish is thoughtfully crafted, every client feels valued, and every aspect of our business—from kitchen prep to event execution—runs efficiently and professionally. Never compare your journey to someone else’s. Every experience is different, and people have different levels of support, investment, and opportunity. Stay focused on your path.

Don’t be afraid to ask for help or seek mentorship—there’s strength in learning from others. Strategy matters, networking matters, and sometimes you have to be willing to give a little to gain a lot in return.

Most importantly, set yourself apart. Let your talent, passion, and authenticity be what differentiates you from the competition. Stay grounded, stay hungry, and never lose sight of your why.

Before we go, maybe you can tell us a bit about your parents and what you feel was the most impactful thing they did for you?

We both come from strong family backgrounds and resilient communities. For me, one of the most impactful things my parents ever did was show me firsthand what it looks like to build and structure a business. They showed me what it means to be a boss in every sense of the word. They taught me that numbers matter, to be kind to people, and to never place myself in a box. Losing both my parents within two years of each other was a shock to my heart and challenged me deeply. But because of how my faith is set up, it awoke me. It lit a different fire—not only in my heart but also fueled a determination to push harder and get serious about building a legacy. Detroiters know good food, and we believe suburban areas deserve that same rich taste of Southern recipes and hospitality. Their example empowered me to believe that I can do anything I set my mind to—and that belief has shaped how I lead in life and in business.

Brad shares a similar foundation.
“I watched my mother work tirelessly in both the culinary and service industries, as well as for community church events and local schools—while still making sure I had a home-cooked, packaged lunch every single day. I saw her walk to and from work, in all kinds of weather, pouring into others without hesitation. Through her, I learned what true strength, hard work, and determination look like. She taught me dignity and pride—and that when you carry those values with grace, they can take you far. She shaped the man I am today, the husband I strive to be, and the business owner I’ve become.”

Together, my wife and I built something special. Roy Southern Cuisine is more than a business—it’s a reflection of our roots, our values, and our shared vision. It’s something new, something bold, and we lead it with integrity.
