Meet Tiffany Swinton

We were lucky to catch up with Tiffany Swinton recently and have shared our conversation below.

Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have Tiffany with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from?

The work ethic I have was instilled in me by the women in my family. They were all self-made women who pushed boundaries. My grandmother owned a beauty salon, my mother ran a catering business, my sister received her doctoral degree, and my aunt co-founded a luxury camping business. I’ve witnessed their growth and resilience throughout their entrepreneurial journeys and goals. The women in my circle continue to thrive in all aspects of their lives and motivate me to do the same.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

Over the years, my career in the law and justice field has honed my ability to handle time-sensitive and confidential documents for various government agencies. Prestige Notary Solutions blossomed from my love of analyzing documents and executing notarial acts. Even though I was commissioned as a notary public in South Carolina in 2016, it wasn’t until 2023 that I used my skills and knowledge fully and became commissioned in Georgia in 2024.

Prestige Notary Solutions is a certified MBE (minority business enterprise), founded with a commitment to excellence and is a trusted mobile notarial service. I serve six counties in South Carolina: Allendale, Beaufort, Charleston, Colleton, Hampton, and Jasper—and two counties in Georgia: Chatham and Effingham. I specialize in providing notarial acts for individuals, law offices and agencies, real estate transactions, and financial institutions. I take pride in offering professional, reliable, and trustworthy services to assist clients in executing some of the most important transactions of their lives.

As for my next move, I’ve accomplished so much this year alone, that I’m excited to see what other opportunities and goals I can achieve.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Continuous professional development — never stop learning. Staying updated with your industry trends & laws is essential. That would consist of credentialing, certifications, and education. In my business, clients (individuals, law offices, realtors, or third-party notary services) want someone knowledgeable, competent, and accurate. I’m helping people with the process of executing & guiding them through the process of a life-changing transaction. Whether it’s closing on a new home, refinancing, wills & trusts, or deeds.

Resilience — having the ability to navigate through challenges while staying motivated. There will be times when major or minor setbacks take place, it’s how you move from that moment on that determines the trajectory of your business. Each hurdle you overcome, and each milestone you reach, builds the resilience and determination needed to turn your vision into reality. Honorable mention: patience.

Adaptability — we live in a world of constant change so having the ability to adjust to new challenges, and environments is key. Prepare by thinking ahead and creating problem-solving scenarios.

As we end our chat, is there a book you can leave people with that’s been meaningful to you and your development?

I’m reading a book called Black Founder – The Hidden Power of Being an Outsider (Stacy Spikes). He explains his struggles within his entrepreneurial journey and how he remained resilient through it all.
