Meet Tiffany Watson

We recently connected with Tiffany Watson and have shared our conversation below.

Tiffany, we’re so excited for our community to get to know you and learn from your journey and the wisdom you’ve acquired over time. Let’s kick things off with a discussion on self-confidence and self-esteem. How did you develop yours?
“Don’t try to lessen yourself for the world; let the world catch up to you.” -Beyoncé

My confidence & self-esteem as a child was impressive to my family. I was a child with a great sense of humor and I was super creative. My aunt says I used to get dressed for the day, put my purse around my arm & walk my invisible dog around the house. If that’s not confidence then I don’t know what is. LOL!

Maintaining my confidence & self-esteem has been the real test and at times a struggle. It had to be developed over time which required changes in myself. I made a list of dreams, goals & achievements and asked myself “how bad do I want it.” But the next step was working towards it.

My self-esteem is like a tea pot. When I feel good, it boils. When I feel great or something amazing happens it boils over and starts whistling. This is when my self-esteem is at its best & I am fully functional. But when I experience hurt, heartache, pain or a setback, the water remains stagnant. I am not at my best form at that point. So I’ve come to a point where I CHOOSE to love myself & move forward despite how I may be feeling, and despite my water temperature in the tea pot that day.

So how did I develop my confidence and self-esteem? I decided to CHOOSE myself over anything else and love MYSELF more as I go on this journey called life.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
My name is Tiffany “Lady T” Watson and I am a TV Host, Content Creator, Comedian, Actress and Model. The most exciting part about what I do is making people smile or laugh on a daily basis.

I am a co-host on FOX45 BMore Lifestyle, weekdays at 11.30AM. I bring some fun, comical energy to the show on a daily basis. I love making people laugh and it brings me joy too. At the tv station I am also an assignment editor & on the digital team. We are the eyes and ears of the news and newsroom. Also, I love celebrity news so I do a segment called “Spilling The Tea” every Tuesday & Thursday on BMore Lifestyle.

My acting career began in 2020 when I was in a Popeyes commercial but then in 2022 I began taking acting classes at McKinnon Acting Studio in Maryland. The teaching and next level coaching has shaped me into who I am today. With their help I have become more bold and confident in my acting skills. Since then I’ve starred in more commercials, an hip hop musical and have been featured on gigantic billboards all over Pennsylvania. It’s exciting to see how far I’ve come.

You can catch me in a brand new TV series called “Enigma” which will be released in Spring 2024. It was written & produced by Seven Heartbeats Production. I play an attorney who deals with the ups & downs of marriage as well balancing her career.

It was my lifelong dream to become a plus size model. I just started modeling shoots this year (2023) and it has been so much fun. I also took a model coaching class taught by the GOAT model coach Jeannie Ferguson who frequently teaches classes in the DMV area. You have to exude a high level of confidence with modeling but I love it. I love that I don’t look like everyone else. I’m uniquely beautiful with curves and hopefully I can inspire others to walk in their own beauty and truth as well.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
I can try to narrow this down into three key things you need to know. My journey really consisted of LOTS OF PRAYER and trusting in God to get me to where I am today. This industry is tough and it can make or break you. But if God is for you who can be against you.

Secondly you need a life coach and therapist. A life coach is going to help you achieve the goals you have set for yourself and kick you in the butt until it’s accomplished. You’ll see a totally different side of yourself with help from a life coach. Mine is Alicia Carter, Journe Life. She really helped me tackle things I was holding myself back from achieving. My life is forever changed by adding a life coach and therapist to my support system.

Lastly I say…gain and use wisdom! Also NETWORK with others. You never know when you will run into them again. You never know who will remember you & want to work with you because you were kind or they see your potential. Networking is a lost art. Don’t put yourself in a bubble. Go to a few events by yourself, meet new people and exchange social media.

Looking back over the past 12 months or so, what do you think has been your biggest area of improvement or growth?
My biggest area of growth in my life has been my confidence and working through grief. In regards to my confidence I am taking more risks, challenging myself more and forming bigger goals. I really want to see the impossible become possible in my life & career. I have really big dreams and I don’t want to be too scared to achieve my goals.

My mom died in 2021 from uterine cancer. She was my everything. My mom was at all my comedy shows recording my jokes, encouraging me constantly, watched all of my TV hosting clips & shared them online, and she was at all the events where I was the MC (Master of Ceremonies), always bought a ticket to my shows and she was a major part of my support system. It was so difficult losing my biggest cheerleader in life. But I still wanted to finish every goal she & I discussed. I was on a mission to accomplish everything she & I dreamed of me doing. She used to call me her “superstar” on a daily basis and I miss that. Dealing with grief isn’t easy and at one point I was just rushing my healing process. Although she is not here in human form she is here in spirit. And as she watches me from heaven I want to make her proud everyday.
