Meet Timm Elliott

We were lucky to catch up with Timm Elliott recently and have shared our conversation below.

Timm, looking forward to learning from your journey. You’ve got an amazing story and before we dive into that, let’s start with an important building block. Where do you get your work ethic from?

My work ethic is deeply influenced by the people I surround myself with and the belief that every effort I make contributes to a larger, meaningful purpose.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

As the host of The Lyfe N Tymes Podcast, I focus on bringing untold stories to the forefront, especially from underground artists and creatives. My mission is to create a space where guests feel comfortable sharing their journeys—their struggles, triumphs, and everything in between. It’s about celebrating authenticity and connecting with people on a deeper level. Whether it’s a musician sharing how they started or an artist discussing their process, every episode is a chance to highlight the beauty of raw, creative expression. We are currently on Season 2 of the show, and it’s been an incredible journey diving even deeper into conversations with some of the most inspiring and talented underground artists and creators. This season, we’ve expanded our focus to include more diverse voices and fresh collaborations, ensuring every episode continues to offer authentic and engaging insights. Stay tuned, because there’s so much more to come!

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Curiosity and an Open Mind: Being genuinely curious about people’s stories and always being open to learning from others has been crucial. It’s not just about asking the right questions; it’s about listening and adapting to the conversation in a way that feels natural and engaging. For anyone starting out, I’d advise embracing every opportunity to learn, whether it’s through books, conversations, or simply being present in the moment

Resilience and Adaptability: Podcasting and creating content isn’t always easy—there are technical challenges, tough moments, and sometimes a lot of self-doubt. But the ability to bounce back and adapt when things don’t go according to plan is essential. To those just starting out, don’t let setbacks discourage you. Embrace mistakes as learning moments and always look for ways to grow.

Authenticity: At the heart of everything I do, staying authentic has been key. Whether it’s in interviews, my personal voice, or the themes I choose to explore, I’ve always aimed to remain true to myself and my audience. If you’re early in your journey, my advice is to be yourself—don’t try to imitate others. People resonate with honesty and originality

Awesome, really appreciate you opening up with us today and before we close maybe you can share a book recommendation with us. Has there been a book that’s been impactful in your growth and development?

The Creative Act: A Way of Being by Rick Rubin has greatly influenced my approach to creativity. Rubin’s insights on creativity as a spiritual and intuitive process, rather than a strict technical skill, have shaped how I approach my work. He emphasizes the importance of embracing uncertainty and creating space for inspiration, which has encouraged me to be more present and trust the unfolding of stories in my podcast.

For those just starting in their creative journeys, I’d recommend embracing these ideas: let go of the need for control, stay open to inspiration, and trust the process—creativity is about more than just producing work; it’s about being attuned to the moment.
