Meet Timmie Standridge

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Timmie Standridge. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Timmie below.

Timmie , so great to have you with us and we want to jump right into a really important question. In recent years, it’s become so clear that we’re living through a time where so many folks are lacking self-confidence and self-esteem. So, we’d love to hear about your journey and how you developed your self-confidence and self-esteem.
Developing confidence and self-esteem is a continuous process, involving several factors, factors that I still work on to this day. Years ago, I felt very lost and unsure of myself. I did not feel confident in my body or in my place in life. I knew I wanted and needed a challenge. The first thing I tackled was my physical body. I knew this was a step I could take action on immediately. I entered into a body building competition, I hired a personal trainer and a coach. I trained hard for 365 days, I stopped going out late at night, I focused on my nutrition. My personal fitness journey is quite literally what changed everything else that followed. By setting and achieving my own fitness goals, I experienced firsthand the challenges and triumphs that come with pursuing a healthy lifestyle. After making these changes in my habits, I decided I wanted to become a coach too. I obtained the necessary education and certification in exercise science and personal training, which also helped to boost my confidence and self-esteem. The knowledge I gained gave me a solid foundation to provide guidance to my clients. Working with different individuals, each with their own unique challenges and goals, has allowed me to refine my skills and strategies. This has reaffirmed my abilities and in this service to others continued to validate my purpose.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
Absolutely! I am so proud of my TSF 12 Week Program, This program is designed to help individuals achieve their weight loss goals through a comprehensive approach that includes customized workouts, habit tracking, personalized coaching, and nutritious recipes. Each recipe I send has the full macronutrient breakdown so that my clients can easily create meals plans that work for their body. My goal is to create a personal relationship with each client who works with me. Many people have never worked out in their life, this can be so intimidating for someone. I want each client to feel comfortable communicating with me and comfortable talking to me when things feel tough. All of the workouts are sent via my app and have tutorials linked, you also have full access to me if you have any questions at anytime during the program.

Here’s an overview of what the 12-week program entails:

1. Customized Weekly Workouts: Each client will receive weekly updated workouts tailored to their fitness level, goals, and preferences. These workouts will be accessible through the TSF app, making it easy for clients to follow along and track their progress.

2. Habit Tracking Workbook: To facilitate behavior change and establish healthy habits, each client will receive a habit tracking workbook. This workbook will help clients monitor their daily habits, such as sleep, nutrition, hydration, and exercise. By tracking these habits, clients can identify areas for improvement and make necessary adjustments.

3. 1:1 Coaching: As part of the program, clients will have regular 1:1 coaching sessions with me. These sessions are designed to provide guidance, support, and accountability throughout the 12 weeks. I will be there to address any questions or concerns, adjust the program as needed, and provide motivation to keep clients on track.

4. Nutritious Recipes: Proper nutrition is a fundamental aspect of weight loss. Clients will receive an extensive collection of delicious and nutritious recipes that align with their dietary preferences and goals. These recipes will not only help clients reach their weight loss goals but also promote overall health and well-being.

The success rate of 90% among clients who have completed this program and achieved weight loss results is a testament to its effectiveness.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Certainly! In becoming a CPT and weight loss coach there were and are three key areas of knowledge that were impactful for my growth and development:

Having a strong understanding of exercise science is essential. This includes knowledge of anatomy, physiology, biomechanics, and exercise principles. Understanding how the body works and responds to exercise allows me to design safe and effective workout programs tailored to individual needs.

Nutrition plays a crucial role in achieving fitness goals. having a solid foundation in nutrition, including macronutrients (carbohydrates, proteins, and fats), micronutrients (vitamins and minerals), and optimal dietary practices. This knowledge allows me to provide clients with appropriate guidance on nutrition and help them make informed choices to support their fitness goals.

Being able to assess a client’s current fitness level, goals, and limitations is fundamental. This includes conducting fitness assessments, body composition analysis, movement assessments, and understanding how to interpret the results. With this information, I can design individualized workout programs that are safe, effective, and aligned with my client’s goals.

In addition to these core areas of knowledge, I also benefit from staying updated with the latest research and developments in the fitness industry, regularly attending workshops and conferences, and seeking opportunities for continued education and professional growth. By continuously expanding my knowledge base, I can provide the best possible guidance and support to their clients.

My suggestion for anyone just starting out in this industry is to find a mentor and to stay on top of their education.

All the wisdom you’ve shared today is sincerely appreciated. Before we go, can you tell us about the main challenge you are currently facing?
The number one challenge I am currently facing is expanding my network. I recently moved from San Diego (large market) to Los Osos (small market) on the Central Coast. I am currently rebuilding my in-person clientele and the strategy has changed. When I was living in San Diego, I had a network based off of living 13 years in the area. I am now using different marketing strategies, such as posting on NextDoor , creating social media campaigns and engaging in the community.
