Meet Timothy Jackson

We recently connected with Timothy Jackson and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Timothy, thank you so much for opening up with us about some important, but sometimes personal topics. One that really matters to us is overcoming Imposter Syndrome because we’ve seen how so many people are held back in life because of this and so we’d really appreciate hearing about how you overcame Imposter Syndrome.

Imposter syndrome is something I dealt with when I was younger. Growing up, I was abused and manipulated in different ways at a young age. I used to think that I was not essential or mattered. When I decided to develop a real relationship with God, my mindset began to change. The more I was around like-minded people and in the Word, I began to discover who I really was. I had a choice to believe what my past said about me or what my future told me that I could be. I decided to walk into the future and become that person. When I began to understand that everything that God made was good, that meant I was good and was worth something. I now make daily declarations over my life because I know how powerful our words are. What we say affects our future and shapes our lives. Whatever my life, bank account, or situation may be, if I do not like where I am or it does not align with what God has said about me, I can speak life and not death into it, and watch it change for my good.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

I am a professional bookkeeper. I own my own business called Effortless Bookkeeping Services. I enjoy helping small businesses get their finances in order and being part of their team. I can assist you with regular monthly reconciliations, addressing any financial arrears, and resolving any outstanding issues that may have arisen. I do taxes as well. I like to find out the why behind their money habits and understand that, most of the time, your business finances say a lot about your personal finances. It is great to help someone build a budget, but it’s even more satisfying to let them see that they have been viewing money in the wrong way. Then, we create a plan to shift the person’s mindset. It makes budgeting a lot more meaningful when we focus on that. That is when my expertise as a financial coach comes in. I let you be the hero in your story; I cheer you on as we navigate life together. I also host a podcast called God’s Honor, where I share teachings on the Word of God and conduct interviews with individuals I know to gain their perspective on how they view God. Spreading the Good News every chance I get.

I am working on assembling a package that leverages my expertise in cybersecurity. Not only will I help you save your money, but I will help to protect it.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

I think the first one would be resilience and adaptability. It is essential to understand how to be resilient and adapt, especially in the current state of the world. Change is inevitable, and it is not a bad thing. When we learn not to let every situation affect us in our lives, dust off our shoulders, nd keep moving towards our goals, then not much can stop us. Adapting to change is also essential. You may not always work a 9-to-5 job or live in that town. You have to adapt to grow. The key to developing these skills is to know who you are and where you want to go in life. Please write down your goals and make them plain. If anything falls outside of these guidelines, then do not accept it.

The second one is being a leader. We sometimes think about a leader being the one in charge and doing everything. Although this is partially true, it is not the whole story of a leader. Being a leader, you must know how to serve people. The best leader that I know, Jesus, came to this world not to brag about who He was, but He served everyone who came to Him. Even ones that most people would not think twice about serving. Find a need and be the solution to the problem. Do it from the goodness of your heart, not to receive recognition or anything else.

The last one is relationship building. Society tells us that we should grind on our own and do our own thing to make it. That is not true; we need people, and they need us. Not only will it benefit business, but it will also benefit life. I had people come into my life who shared things with me that helped save me years of loss because I was able to build a relationship with them. Some of my clients I would not have if I had not built relationships with other people. Make friends and have people who have your back, even if it is just one.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?

I am always looking for people to collaborate with or partner with, even if I don’t receive anything in return. I am a servant and a giver at heart. I love motivating and cheering people on as they strive to achieve their goals. I am looking for individuals who are dedicated and possibly seeking to earn some extra income on the side. I would like for people to work with me to become a bookkeeper. I can help train you if you have no experience in this field. Once you feel comfortable, you can begin serving your own customers, and we continue to grow as we build a legacy that will outlast us. It will also help future generations as you teach your children and grandchildren a business that will last for years.
