We were lucky to catch up with Timothy- Tk Klund recently and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Timothy- TK, appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?

My resilience comes from my mom and my stepmom. These two ladies ate up adversity like I ate chocolate coco puffs! Regardless of the situation they were going through, they would never let you see them sweat over anything. Their Faith in GOD overcame an obstacle they went through and the same principles of Faith has been great for me to follow as well.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

Timothy Klund is a United States Air Force Veteran and is regarded as one of the top industry leaders as a “Relationship Specialist” in the world of Corporate and Sports Marketing. Since 2001 he has been a leading authority when working with corporate leaders, professional athletes and celebrities on their personal name branding campaigns and potential endorsement opportunities.

He has executive level experience in Fortune 500 companies, as he was Executive Vice President with several companies before leaving the corporate sector to chase his personal dreams in 2008.

He is the Founder of the Red River Celebrity Softball Game (2017-2019). The game is made up of celebrity alumni from both University of Texas and University of Oklahoma & benefited several charitable foundations, including the Toby Keith Foundation, the Roger Clemens Foundation & J.K. Livin, which was founded by Matthew McConaughey.

TK works with several national foundations and charities assisting in raising monies and awareness for causes helping veterans and children.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Humility, Gratefulness and never giving up on what I believed in.
Life has a way of bringing humility to all of us, when we aren’t grateful to the blessings, we are receiving. Goals are like climbing a mountain, you think that mountain top is the pinnacle, until you reach the top. Once you make it, you see other mountain tops (goals) even greater than what you imagined, so unfortunately you have to go back down the mountain you climbed, through the valley and begin to climb the next mountain. My mountain climbing days will never end, there is always a new goal that I am chasing that is even bigger than the previous goals. Once you realize adversity is part of the game you are playing, the highs, the lows… everything involved, it is easy to remain consistent regardless of the wins or losses. You cannot be successful with the failures; they all go hand in hand with each other. Life is hard in general, the sooner you can learn how to adapt to the good and bad, the faster you will get to where you want to be in life. If I would have listened to all the people telling me I would never be able to do it, I would have made them correct! Thank GOD, I am hardheaded and willing to go all in, regardless of the possible failures ahead, which there will be. Success is by design! Find someone who is where you want to be and copy them.

Thanks so much for sharing all these insights with us today. Before we go, is there a book that’s played in important role in your development?

Tony Robbins book, “Awaken the Giant Within” as well as the cassette tapes on his book were great! (Shows how old I am.)
Tony suggests finding someone in life doing what you want to do and are currently at a place you want to be, and copy them. As soon as I understood this concept, life became easy! If you cheat in school… you get in trouble, which I believe has people believing it is not right to “Cheat” or “Copy” someone in the game of life, who is already where you want to be. It is really that simple! Again, “Success is by Design!”
