We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Tina Divina a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Tina , so excited to have you with us today. So much we can chat about, but one of the questions we are most interested in is how you have managed to keep your creativity alive.
Creativity is oxygen to my soul, it’s the thing that I would do for free everyday and even though, by career, I am an accountant and business owner, I make a point to keep that part of me alive and well. I am an ardent lover of nature’s beauty and the transcendent power of music. I intentionally find the spaces and time to reconnect to myself, to listen to the music that speaks to my heart and that feeds my inner child, my inner desire to sew, to paint, to write, especially to write. This is when I feel most alive. I always remind my friends that the magic of putting words to page need not be limited to professional writers. Sometimes it’s as effortless as letting your deepest thoughts seep out, random streams of consciousness finding form. Just pick up a pen and let your unedited truth flow.
While I take great pride in my professional career providing financial guidance, I know these tender creative activities feed my spirit in ways the corporate world cannot. I cultivate a beautiful balance.
Thanks, so before we move on, could you tell our readers more about what you do and what you feel is most exciting or special about it?
I’m thrilled to announce the release of my fourth book, “Unlearning: The Art of Practicing Mindful Positivity.” This latest work is undoubtedly my proudest creative achievement to date. The insights and wisdom it contains has been over 15 years in the making, if not longer, reflecting the profound life lessons that have shaped my journey.
“Unlearning” is a deeply personal exploration of savoring life’s moments – both the good and the challenging. It’s about learning to find the silver linings, the opportunities for growth, even in our darkest times. Through it all, the book emphasizes the importance of self-love and compassion as we navigate life’s ups and downs.
Drawing from my own experiences, as well as the inspiring stories of others, “Unlearning” offers a roadmap for cultivating a mindset of mindful positivity. It encourages readers to question their assumptions, let go of limiting beliefs, and step into their full potential. The practices and perspectives shared within these pages have been pivotal in helping me achieve a profound sense of inner peace and purpose.
My hope is that “Unlearning” will serve as a guiding light for those seeking to transcend their perceived limitations, embrace their perfectly imperfect selves, and live with greater intention, gratitude and joy. This book represents the culmination of years of deep introspection, growth and an unwavering commitment to emotional, mental and spiritual well-being. I’m truly honored to share these transformative teachings with the world.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
The path to your dreams is paved with patience, perseverance, and love.
Embracing these three virtues will be your greatest allies on the journey ahead. They will give you the strength and fortitude to overcome obstacles, the determination to keep moving forward, and the heart to stay true to what matters most.
Alright so to wrap up, who deserves credit for helping you overcome challenges or build some of the essential skills you’ve needed?
Becoming a mother taught me so much about selflessness and unconditional love. My daughter has definitely been the light in my life, filling the the smallest corners with joy and giving me a purpose I had never known before. When I run on empty, she plays my favorite music or says something hilarious to make me smile and I am instantly re-energized. Being a parent teaches us strength and resilience that we didn’t even knew existed so I definitely strive to success to show her how far we can go and pray it encourages her to go even farther.
