We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Tina Murphy. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Tina below.
Hi Tina, really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?
How did I find my purpose? Let me share a story with you that weaves through the darkest moments of my life and brings you to the light that now guides my every step.
Growing up, my life was a whirlwind of confusion and pain. As a young girl, I faced the unthinkable—molestation that left scars on my soul. For years, I carried this invisible weight, feeling trapped in a world that seemed indifferent to my suffering. But deep down, a fire flickered, refusing to be extinguished by the shadows of my past.
As I grew older, life continued to test me in unimaginable ways. The diagnosis of breast cancer came as a devastating blow, shaking me to my core. The physical pain was excruciating, but it was the emotional turmoil that truly threatened to break me. Yet, in the depths of my despair, I found a wellspring of strength I never knew existed. Each treatment, each battle fought against this relentless disease, became a testament to my resilience.
Then, just when I thought I had faced the worst, I experienced the unimaginable heartbreak of losing a child. The grief was all-consuming, a suffocating darkness that seemed impossible to escape. And as if that weren’t enough, I faced the betrayal of infidelity, a knife twisting in an already wounded heart.
In those moments, it would have been easy to succumb to despair. But something inside me refused to let go. I realized that my experiences, as harrowing as they were, had shaped me into a woman of incredible strength and resilience. They had ignited a passion within me—a burning desire to not only heal myself but to help others heal as well.
It was this realization that led me to my purpose. I founded Chest Less, LLC, a sanctuary for women seeking to transform their trauma into triumph. Through this platform, I provide resources, support, and a community for women to shift their perspectives on traumatic events and break past internal blocks. I became a beacon of hope, demonstrating that it is possible to overcome life’s most debilitating hardships and emerge on the other side thriving.
My memoir, “Chest Less but Still Breathing,” and “Without My Permission,” are extensions of my journey. These books are not just stories—they are guides for those who, like me, have faced the darkness and are searching for a way to the light. They are a testament to the idea that our most crushing experiences can become the very stepping stones to a beautiful, empowering future.
What makes my work truly compelling is the authenticity behind it. I have lived through every word I speak and write. My journey from pain to purpose is not just a story—it’s a testament to the resilience of the human spirit. Through my publications, speaking engagements, and coaching services, I have had the privilege of guiding countless women to discover their authentic beauty and enlightenment from the shadows of their pasts.
Nothing brings me greater joy than using my story to uplift others, to help them achieve genuine, prospering growth. My deep ardency for what I do is rooted in authenticity, integrity, and trust. I am devoted to instilling positive change, believing wholeheartedly that everyone deserves healing and happiness.
Sometimes, it is those crushing, heartbreaking experiences that serve as the very stepping stones to something quite beautiful. I am living proof of that. And I am here to help others discover the same truth within themselves and that is how I found my purpose.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I’m a highly resilient and passionate Serial Author, Motivational Speaker, and Life Coach. My core mission is to help women heal from their past, align with the present, and discover profound clarity to create a wonderful and empowering future through my online Life Coaching business.
What I do is deeply personal and profoundly rewarding. Having faced my own monumental challenges—including molestation, breast cancer, child loss, and infidelity—I understand the depths of hardship. But I’ve also discovered the incredible strength and resilience that can arise from these experiences. This personal journey fuels my work and allows me to connect with and support other women who are navigating their own tough times.
What excites me the most about my work is witnessing the transformation in the women I coach. It’s incredibly fulfilling to see them reclaim their power, embrace their presence, and step confidently into a brighter future. Each success story is a testament to the resilience of the human spirit, and it reinforces my commitment to this path.
As for what’s new, I’m currently finishing up a children’s book entitled “Know your No’s” This book shows children how to have the courage to say no to inappropriate touching. Additionally, I’m looking for opportunities to host a series of workshops and webinars designed to provide practical tools and support for women on their healing journeys. These events are all about creating a supportive community where women can share, learn, and grow together.
I want folks to know that my brand is built on authenticity, compassion, and a deep-seated belief in the power of transformation. My goal is to inspire and empower women to not just survive their challenges but to thrive and create lives filled with purpose and joy.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Looking back, I’d say the three qualities that were most impactful in my journey are resilience, empathy, and continuous learning. Each of these played a pivotal role in shaping who I am and how I help others today.
Resilience: Life has thrown some pretty tough challenges my way—molestation, breast cancer, child loss, and infidelity, to name a few. But resilience isn’t just about bouncing back; it’s about bouncing forward. It’s finding the strength to not only survive but thrive and transform adversity into a source of strength and growth. My advice for cultivating resilience is to embrace setbacks as learning opportunities. Remember, it’s not about never falling; it’s about always getting back up and moving forward.
Empathy: Understanding and sharing the feelings of others is crucial, especially in my line of work. My experiences have given me a deep well of empathy to draw from, allowing me to connect with and support other women on a meaningful level. To develop empathy, I suggest actively listening to others and putting yourself in their shoes. Volunteer work and community involvement are also great ways to broaden your perspective and deepen your empathy.
Continuous Learning: The journey of personal and professional growth never ends. I’m always seeking new knowledge and skills, whether it’s through formal education, workshops, or simply reading and exploring new ideas. For those early in their journey, I recommend a commitment to lifelong learning. Stay curious, seek out mentors, and never stop asking questions. The more you learn, the more you grow, and the better equipped you’ll be to handle whatever life throws your way.
For anyone starting their journey, my advice is to embrace these qualities and make them a part of your daily life. Resilience will keep you moving forward, empathy will connect you to others, and continuous learning will open up endless possibilities. Enjoy the ride, learn from every experience, and remember—you have the power to create a wonderful, empowering future!
How can folks who want to work with you connect?

Fellow Coaches and Therapists: Collaboration with other professionals in the personal development and mental health fields is incredibly valuable. We can share insights, co-host events, and provide a broader range of services to our clients.
Authors and Speakers: If you have a message that aligns with empowering and uplifting women, I’d love to explore co-authoring books, speaking at conferences, or hosting webinars together.
Businesses with a Social Impact Focus: Companies that are passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of women are ideal partners. We can work together on corporate wellness programs, sponsorship opportunities, and community outreach initiatives.
