We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Tina Nunar. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Tina below.
Hi Tina, appreciate you sitting with us today. Maybe we can start with a topic that we care deeply about because it’s something we’ve found really sets folks apart and can make all the difference in whether someone reaches their goals. Self discipline seems to have an outsized impact on how someone’s life plays out and so we’d love to hear about how you developed yours?
My self-discipline comes from a strong desire for change and growth. I believe that if we want to improve, change, or maintain something, we need to take action. Whether it’s a shift in mindset or physical effort, the principle is the same. With that awareness, I’ve developed the ability to stay disciplined. I focus on the idea that consistent movement, even small steps, will eventually bring me closer to my goals. This mindset keeps me motivated and grounded in my daily actions.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
My name is Tina, and I have a background in visual communications. I see myself as someone who enjoys creating unique and meaningful solutions through design. During my studies, I developed a deep passion for visual storytelling. I believe in the power of visuals to enhance stories and convey messages clearly, which is why I love to create visual commentaries.
I specialize in combining illustrations with thoughtful design language to create branding materials, posters, pictograms, book covers, and full brand identities. My approach to design is rooted in problem-solving—finding creative solutions that align with a brand’s vision or a project’s goals.
I’m naturally curious and always strive to gather as much information as possible to see things from different perspectives. I understand the importance of asking the right questions to truly understand a brand or topic, which ultimately helps me craft designs that communicate effectively.
In addition to my professional work, I also create art as a way to express my own thoughts. After receiving great feedback, I started selling prints in local shops and on platforms like Etsy. This experience has helped me connect with audiences in a more personal way and develop my skills further. Beside design I’m interested in documentaries about contemporary issues, historical events, nature, and the animal world. I love to run and improve my abilities in the physical world as well as nurture my mental growth.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
I would describe myself as someone who thrives on making connections and finding associations. My ability to think quickly and identify meaningful links allows me to enhance my designs by incorporating visual connotations that resonate with people. This approach helps create messages that are not only clear but also memorable.
Another quality that supports me in my work is perseverance. It’s especially valuable when I encounter challenges or need to find innovative solutions. I don’t give up easily and always push myself to explore new approaches.
Lastly, my attention to detail drives me to deliver my best in everything I do. I consider myself a perfectionist, and I tend to be my own harshest critic. While this pushes me to maintain high standards, it also ensures that the work I produce is thoughtful and polished.
My advice for anyone early in their journey is to be mindful of their own qualities and learn how to use them in a positive way. The strengths we rely on can sometimes work against us if not managed carefully. For example, constantly thinking and processing information can become overwhelming. Perseverance can lead to difficulties in recognizing when it’s healthy to let go of a task or project. Similarly, a strong attention to detail can turn into perfectionism, where a project feels never-ending and leads to self-doubt.
The key is self-awareness—understanding how to balance our strengths so they support, rather than sabotage, our process. It’s a lesson I’ve learned along the way, and it’s something I continue to practice in my own work.
How can folks who want to work with you connect?
I’m seeking a collaborative opportunity where I can contribute my unique skills in graphic design and illustration. My work is available to view on my Behance portfolio, and I’d be happy to share more about the projects I’ve worked on. I particularly enjoy designing book covers and creating illustrations that complement written content, as it allows me to merge storytelling with visual art.
I’m always eager to learn about new topics and bring fresh ideas to the table. Additionally, I’m passionate about putting my creativity and energy into sustainable solutions and projects that align with my values. If my approach resonates with anyone, I’d love to explore how we might work together. I’m eager to join a positive and open minded team, who is looking for a visual touch for their ideas.
