We were lucky to catch up with Tiona Savage recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Tiona, thank you for being such a positive, uplifting person. We’ve noticed that so many of the successful folks we’ve had the good fortune of connecting with have high levels of optimism and so we’d love to hear about your optimism and where you think it comes from.
My optimism is fueled by a few different things: 1) my unwavering belief that God is in control and everything happens exactly as it’s supposed to happen.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
As a long-time marketing and media executive with a resume that includes iHeartMedia, Audacy, Urban One, The New York Times and ABC Radio Networks (a Walt-Disney Co), and NEBO Advertising, Tiona Savage is currently at the helm of two incredible ventures:
1) Her own agency, MultiMedia MKTG which specializes in helping businesses with marketing strategy and digital marketing–primarily focused on 6 pillars: influencer marketing, podcast marketing, cannabis marketing, independent artist promotion, health & fitness marketing and culinary marketing (food products/restaurants/food trucks/cookbooks).
PLUS, her passion project,
2) Atlanta’s Famous Sliders which is leading her multi-brand empire to redefine the culinary landscape as the next up-and-coming food brand out of Atlanta. This movement is more than just a food trend; it’s gaining attention and becoming the talk of the town. Get ready to embark on a gastronomic journey that’s as diverse as Atlanta itself! AFS is a fusion of music, culture, art, and style, all blended into an innovative food brand aimed at highlighting Atlanta’s transient population with a mission to give back to the local communities.
Get ready to be amazed by Atlanta’s Famous Sliders. The specialty sliders will challenge your taste buds and redefine your slider experience. They don’t serve your average mini burgers. Their sliders are gourmet creations infused with the soul of different cities. Atlanta’s Famous Sliders takes pride in capturing the essence of Atlanta and its diverse population, with a special focus on flavors and themes that represent transplants—people who have made Atlanta their home and brought a piece of their origin city with them. From the Seattle Slammin’ Salmon Slider that takes your taste buds on a journey to the Pacific Northwest to the Nawlins Shrimp PO Boy Slider that embodies the heart of New Orleans, each slider is a masterpiece of culinary innovation. Plus, they’re generously seasoned with Tiona’s own The seasonings and Infused Olive Oils.
At the center of Tiona’s most recent efforts to merge her love of community service, cooking, and transplants, she’s launching a campaign to fund Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners that give all of the many people who move to Atlanta and don’t have family in the area a place for dinner, fellowship, and a good old-fashioned time. “Year after year, I’ve heard people say that they’ll be spending Thanksgiving and/or Christmas solo because they don’t have family in Atlanta and they weren’t making it home for the holidays. I always extend an invitation for them to come to my pad for dinner since I cook every year, Tiona commented. She continued by saying, “It breaks my heart, and I’ve always said that one day I’d have a big enough dinner to invite every transplant who didn’t have any local family to share holiday dinners with.”
So these days, the major focus of the self-funded brand is to raise money to assist with bringing the holiday dinners and other local food-focused events into fruition, Atlanta’s Famous Sliders wants to be known for their amazing sliders, cool cultural vibes AND for their mission to use the brand to utilize their talent and their tenth to give back to GOD through their community outreach.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
The three areas that have best served me in my entrepreneurial endeavors are: Keeping GOD and humility, compassion, kindness and empathy at the forefront of everything I do,
Utilizing my expertise in marketing, branding and building relationships as I develop my companies and help others market theirs,
Continuing to learn from others and from reading.
