We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Tishelle Ogunfiditimi. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Tishelle below.
Tishelle, looking forward to learning from your journey. You’ve got an amazing story and before we dive into that, let’s start with an important building block. Where do you get your work ethic from?
I got my work ethic from my mother. Her strong sense of discipline and integrity laid the foundation for my strong work ethic. My mother served in the military and then went on to work 30+ years in for the Government. She has always instilled in me to be a women of my word and to be carefully selective with my commitments. Her example and lessons have continued to pay dividends in my success.
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
The most impactful qualities that have impacted my journey would be remaining coachable, maintain a thirst for knowledge and learning and never under estimate the power of your network. Being teachable is paramount in this journey, learning from others can help you avoid costly mistakes and arrive to your goals much faster. On this journey you will likely have to pivot a lot, having the support of mentors, coaches or experienced individuals will make the difference between failure and success. Never stop learning, master your craft and then master it again. I find that my commitment to learning as much as I can about the design industry and entrepreneurship promotes innovation and keeps me sharp. Lastly, many folks under estimate the power of their own network. Often times when first getting started, we want to connect or collaborate with people that are where we want to be. Horizontal collaboration is just as impactful as vertical collaboration. People inside my network were the first to support my business and they are still the top supporters of my business now.
Thanks so much for sharing all these insights with us today. Before we go, is there a book that’s played in important role in your development?
We Should all be Millionaires by Rachel Rodgers has been extremely transformative for me. This book really helped me to identify some gaps I had in my mindset that were really restricting me from the growth that my business deserved. It also provided some tangible ways that I could improve my business, and work life balance. I highly recommend this book, and others like it to address the gaps in our knowledge and understanding that keep us from reaching our greatest potential.
