Meet Titus Golden

We recently connected with Titus Golden and have shared our conversation below.

Titus, thanks so much for taking the time to share your insights and lessons with us today. We’re particularly interested in hearing about how you became such a resilient person. Where do you get your resilience from?

My resilience is deeply rooted in the hurt and trauma I’ve experienced throughout my life. Those painful moments, though difficult, have shaped who I am and have given me the strength to push forward. Each challenge became an opportunity to rise above, transforming my pain into purpose. It’s in those darkest times that I found the will to keep going, to create, and to build something meaningful. My strength didn’t come from avoiding hardship—it came from surviving it, learning from it, and using it as fuel for growth. That’s where my resilience truly comes from.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

As the owner of Ozell Brand, I’m incredibly proud of the journey we’ve taken to create high-quality, affordable shoes for communities across the globe. Our mission is to design tennis shoes and sports cleats for all athletes, regardless of the sport they play or where they come from. We believe that everyone deserves access to great footwear that supports their performance, whether on the court, field, or in everyday life. It’s exciting to be part of something bigger, knowing that we’re not just making shoes—we’re creating opportunities for people to excel and feel confident. Our goal is to continue expanding our reach, bringing affordable, stylish, and functional footwear to communities worldwide.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

1. **Resilience**: There were plenty of obstacles along the way—financial challenges, self-doubt, and the difficulty of launching something new. My ability to stay resilient, despite setbacks, kept me moving forward. For anyone starting their journey, my advice is to embrace failures as lessons. Understand that resilience is built by overcoming challenges, so don’t shy away from them—learn and grow from each one.

2. **Creativity**: Ozell Brand was born from my personal struggles, and I turned those dark moments into something bright and meaningful. I used creativity to design shoes that represent more than just footwear—they symbolize transformation. If you’re at the beginning of your journey, nurture your creative side and stay true to what inspires you. Let your unique experiences and perspectives fuel your vision.

3. **Community Focus**: From the start, Ozell Brand has been about more than just shoes—it’s about giving back to the community and helping others. This has created a loyal customer base and aligned us with organizations that share our values. For those early in their journey, focus on how you can serve your community. Building genuine connections and creating value for others will take you much further than focusing on profits alone.

Developing these qualities—resilience, creativity, and community focus—will set a strong foundation for anyone looking to build something meaningful.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?

Yes, Ozell Brand is always looking to partner and collaborate with like-minded individuals and organizations. We’re particularly interested in working with people and groups who share our passion for empowering communities, providing opportunities for youth, and creating accessible, affordable products. Whether you’re involved in sports, community outreach, fashion, or share a mission to inspire positive change, we’d love to explore how we can work together.

We’re also open to partnerships with schools, athletic programs, and nonprofits that align with our vision of making quality footwear available to everyone, no matter their background. If you’re reading this and feel that your values and mission resonate with ours, we’d love to connect.

You can reach out to us via our website or contact us directly through our social media channels. We’re excited to collaborate and grow with those who share our vision!
