Meet TJ Basham

We were lucky to catch up with TJ Basham recently and have shared our conversation below.

Hi TJ, thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?

My friends who inspired me. Seeing their successes and follow-through. They are a very determined, passionate, and dedicated group of talented friends.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

So, back in 2017, is where my story begins. I met an actor by the name of Johnny Alonso. He taught me how to become a great Publicist. He took his time and walked me through the process. I started booking him interview’s. From there I was able to make more interview’s happen with colleagues who had something to promote. I knew I had talent to do this. I have made incredible contacts. I ‘ve experienced some really awesome events. One of my dearest friends, Mr. Jess Norvisgaard told me, “TJ, you are incredible with this. YOU are just awesome! This is YOU!!!”. I was able to get Mr. Norvisgaard on Interviews for his film “The good things devils do”. Most of my life, I’ve always wanted to be a Hollywood agent. After being all the awesome experiences. My dream grew bigger.

The most exciting is meeting other filmmakers! Seeing their projects being made. My dear friend Mr. Christopher Cooksey. This incredible friend of mine also taught me how to keep going. He’s also a huge supporter of mine. Watching his first film, “The Quantum Terror,” and his winning an award was super exciting to me. Now working on is 2nd film. The hard work he puts into it! It was just inspiring to me. Meeting my dear friend, Mr. Matthew Paris, writer-filmmaker. (his film The Last Catch). He has GIVEN me so much as well. From editing his projects to making posters for him. He’s also a HUGE inspiration and huge supporter of mine. Meeting creator Elena Moscatt, her entertainment show, click on this, just upped my excitement. She’s another inspiration I have.

In 2019, I got to meet one of my heroes, a filmmaker. Mr. Kevin Smith. I was able to have a few minutes with him. He gave me a huge hug and told me, Keep going. Keep pushing on. That meant the world to me.

So, from 2017 to the current day- 2025. I am still in PR. currently in college working towards my degree.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

I am a social butterfly. I love meeting EVERYONE!! I’m very personable. I am the person who will come up with a smile and introduce myself and ask about YOU!! I PERSERVERE!! I am Persistant! I am determined and DRIVEN!! I am always looking for the next talent. The most impactful knowledge is networking! My nickname is MR. NETWORK! I made interviews happen. I gained new friends.

My advice is to NEVER GIVE UP! Put yourself out there. LEARN! Learn everything you can. Build a support team.
what to improve? always Learn. find peers that help you. to help guide you. They can see areas you need to improve.

How would you spend the next decade if you somehow knew that it was your last?

Spend that time in California. Visiting Warner Bros. studio as often as possible. Going to Malibu. Watch the surfers. spend time at the Hollywood Sign. Visit the Famous Chateau Marmont. Take in a Dodgers game!!
