Meet Tjameika Wilson

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Tjameika Wilson a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Tjameika Wilson , looking forward to learning from your journey. You’ve got an amazing story and before we dive into that, let’s start with an important building block. Where do you get your work ethic from?

I got my worth ethics from my grandfather and my mother. My grandfather had a quadruple bypass. And he still got up every day and cut wood and walked me to school. He never laid in the bed, No matter how sick he felt. He took care of everything. Even now at the age of almost 70 my mother still works two jobs. I was taught you work hard you can do anything you want.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

I have been working at the same company for 25 years. I started modeling in 2007. After winning a Ms Full Figured Supermodel competition in 2014 I started my own cosmetic line with just lipstick and lipgloss. CDiamonds Cosmetics started because I believed other women should be able to C the Diamond within Themselves. when I start at modeling people would say I was too short, and too thick to model, and if I could push past that others can too. After expanding the brand I became a makeup artist. I have also started a luxury clothing brand for men and women. After winning the New Day Associates. model competition in 2021 I was able to show a full line at their fashion show. September 2024 we made our 10 year anniversary and I couldn’t be so proud.. We have cosmetics, beauty, body products, and apparel for men and women and so much more. CDiamonds Cosmetic will be a household name. We couldn’t have done it without our supporters. I can’t forget I also had the opportunity of acting in movies and plays and been in many magazines.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Being resilient, giving, and thoughtful. These attributes help me with my company because I always thought about other people first, and how to make others feel good about themselves. My resilience wouldn’t allow me to give up just because sales were low. I have expanded the brand so much, that now I have almost a full line. I would tell someone getting into the business not just do something just to make money, but to make a difference in the world and into someone elses life. Money will come and go. But the gift of joy that you give to someone else will last a lifetime.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?

I am looking to collaborate with more make up artist and hairstylist. When I’m doing weddings or just someone looking for another mua when I’m not available I would love to be able to give out work to others. I enjoy connecting people and helping others. I am also looking to connect with more people in the entertainment industry. I would love to be on set as a make up artist for TV and film.
