Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Todd Reed. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Todd , so great to have you with us and thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts with the community. So, let’s jump into something that stops so many people from going after their dreams – haters, nay-sayers, etc. We’d love to hear about how you dealt with that and persisted on your path.

When my wife Tonya and I Decided to build our own haunted attraction “Hunger Holler Farms”, we were both “laser focused“ on achieving that goal, no matter what!
Upon our announcement 3yrs ago, we were met with an overwhelming amount of interest and encouragement from people close to us who know our capabilities, as well as people who follow us on Social media that were witnesses to our Rapid growth in this industry, as One of the leading fabrication companies in our state.
Almost simultaneously, there were a faction of “INDUSTRY HATERS” that emerged. Lead by a few Haunt fabricators with a very small and specific fan base, Desperately struggling to maintain their relevance in this industry, due to lack of capabilities to produce diverse artwork.
And then, there were a small group of Haunted House owners, who ran in the same circle. Fueled by intimidation, because of their lack of innovation, artistic originality, and determination to foster a broken and exhausted business model. The thought of a new company like ours, emerging with a totally “out of the box” approach to Haunted House design, is a very threatening idea, for people in this industry who have thrived without any real competition.
However, we kept our mouths shut, and dug in even deeper, determined to never fail and to prove them all wrong.
There has never been a doubt in our minds that this was achievable. With my wife Tonya’s Impeccable career As an Operations manager for multimillion dollar medical clinics, accompanied by my professional art career spanning from 1989, as well as my experience in every aspect of the entertainment industry For the last 30 years.
We know that we have exactly the right tools, to innovate and revolutionized this industry, that we have been a fans of all of our lives.
My prediction is following our 2025 grand opening of “Hunger Holler Farms” at the historic NATIONAL TRAILS RACEWAY, you will see an emergence of industry, plagiarist, awkwardly struggling to retool Their Businesses, to mimic what we have been fabricating for the past two years. We are already seeing hints of this occurring presently. But this does not worry me. Everyone knows that I am known for the original “Retro futuristic/Atomic age” theme,
Even though I am certain that companies will try to steal our original concept, they will never be able to completely mimic “The Bomb” we are about to Drop on this industry.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

Hunger Holler Farms is currently our primary focus. However, following the success, we are expecting to achieve, our business focus will swiftly turn to developing themed restaurants, launching our special effects based filmmakers Academy as well as continuing to expand our clientele list for our fabrication company Steampowered SFX Productions!

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

I went to an art school in Columbus, Ohio called “Fort Hayes”. My instructors were very patient and passionate. They emphasized to me that art was never a competition with annyone else, except with yourself. There is no wrong or right way to express yourself with art. However, if you are truly Create something from your soul, instead of following trends, it will resonate with your creation.

If you knew you only had a decade of life left, how would you spend that decade?

I would love to have a benefactor!
Someone with vacant property, and or an abundance of investment money.
I have always been known as the “idea guy“ by people who know me well. I Have always had a knack for coming up with fresh and innovative, business ideas. I even have the capabilities of building and developing these businesses. However, I need a “Yin” to my “Yang”. Someone who recognizes my vision, my determination, As well as my capabilities.
When this person finally makes themselves present, we will definitely be an entity to be reckoned with!
