Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Tom Weber. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Tom, thank you so much for joining us. You are such a positive person and it’s something we really admire and so we wanted to start by asking you where you think your optimism comes from?
It comes from the children in my classes and performances that I do. I could be really tired that day but as soon as I see the kids smiling faces and the positive energy they give off I am ready to rock!
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I am a full time children’s musician. I love my job because I get to make music with so many awesome kids at schools, libraries, camps and other places. I am currently in the studio working on a Halloween EP which will be released this year!
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Well, I started working in early childhood when I was in high school and loved it! I quickly realized working with kids was my calling. Doing music for kids evolved out of my work experience as a teacher and inspired me to pursue music as a career. I would advise anyone to pick something they are passionate about and go for it. Sure money is important in choosing a career but if that is your only goal then you are going to be disappointed.
What was the most impactful thing your parents did for you?
The most important thing my parents did for me was to expose me to the arts and instill the idea I could do anything I wanted in life if I worked really hard at it.
