Meet Tomy Hunter

We were lucky to catch up with Tomy Hunter recently and have shared our conversation below.

Tomy, so good to have you with us today. We’ve got so much planned, so let’s jump right into it. We live in such a diverse world, and in many ways the world is getting better and more understanding but it’s far from perfect. There are so many times where folks find themselves in rooms or situations where they are the only ones that look like them – that might mean being the only woman of color in the room or the only person who grew up in a certain environment etc. Can you talk to us about how you’ve managed to thrive even in situations where you were the only one in the room?

Being the only one in the room has never been easy but it’s been one of my greatest teachers. I’ve learned to turn that feeling of isolation into fuel. I walk into every room knowing I bring a unique perspective, one that’s shaped by my culture, my experience, and my resilience. I’ve learned to listen twice as much, speak with purpose, and let my work speak volumes because sometimes you don’t get second chances to prove why you deserve to be there.

I’ve also learned that representation is power. So I don’t just sit in the room for me, I sit there so someone else who looks like me can one day walk in and feel seen. Every time I produce, create, or lead, I’m breaking a barrier and I don’t take that lightly. Success to me isn’t just about personal wins, it’s about opening the door wider for the next wave.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

Tony Hunter: From Single Father to Media Powerhouse – Building Dreams, Faith, and a Legacy in Atlanta

In the vibrant heart of Atlanta, Georgia, where culture meets creativity and hustle meets heart, Tony Hunter is not just making waves in the entertainment industry—he is building a movement. A devoted single father of three boys, Tony is the CEO of MinolaTV Network, a rising TV producer, and a man of deep purpose, leading with vision, faith, and determination to open doors that once seemed permanently shut.

Tony’s journey began in music. In 2007, he was signed to Muziq Records as a recording artist, launching a career that laid the foundation for what would become nearly two decades of experience in the entertainment world. “Music taught me discipline and expression,” Tony says. “But storytelling in all forms is what truly fuels me.” That passion has evolved into a dynamic platform for content creation through MinolaTV.

As the founder and CEO of MinolaTV Network, Tony is building more than a brand—he’s creating a home for authentic, purpose-driven content. The network is available on all major streaming platforms including Roku, Apple TV, Firestick, iOS, and Android apps, making it widely accessible to a global audience hungry for something real. Whether it’s drama, reality, or documentary storytelling, MinolaTV offers bold, unfiltered perspectives you won’t find anywhere else.

Tony’s current slate of projects under Minola Entertainment Productions showcases his range and commitment to excellence. He’s producing the hit reality series Making It In The ATL, capturing the unfiltered lives of ambitious creatives in one of the most dynamic cities in the country. He’s also behind Chiro Champions of Atlanta, a groundbreaking series highlighting the work and influence of chiropractors making a difference in their communities.

Now expanding into the world of theater, Tony is producing his debut stage play, The Haunting Within, an emotionally intense production that blends drama, suspense, and soul work. The play features an all-star cast including Jahi Trotter, Ashley Vega, Nana Kwame, Calah Brown, and Nic Banks. “This project is about confronting the things we often bury,” Tony says. “It’s deep, powerful, and long overdue.”

Behind the scenes, Tony is surrounded by a powerhouse team he credits as essential to his success. Alexis Contreras, Sid Singh, and Jide Kaxton are more than just team members—they’re trusted partners in building Minola into one of Atlanta’s most promising independent production companies. “They help me carry the vision,” Tony shares. “And together, we’re building something that will stand the test of time.”

Tony’s creativity doesn’t stop with screen and stage. He’s preparing to release his first book, titled Quite On Set, co-written with his aunt Debra Thompson. The book is a deeply personal spiritual guide for anyone struggling to hear God’s voice through the chaos of everyday life. “It’s about shutting out the noise and tuning into your purpose,” Tony says. “It’s about healing, clarity, and understanding what God truly has for you.”

Though Quite On Set has not yet been released, it’s already gaining attention as a must-read for those seeking peace, direction, and restoration. “This isn’t just my story—it’s a roadmap for anyone going through a silent season, a broken season, or a season of transformation,” Tony explains. “I wanted to write something that feeds the soul.”

At the core of all his work is a drive rooted in faith, family, and vision. Tony Hunter is not chasing fame—he’s building legacy. As a single father, every step he takes is about creating a better future not just for his boys, but for all the dreamers and doers watching him rise. “I dream big, I work hard, and I never let life’s noise stop me from going after what I deserve,” Tony says. “I’m not waiting for opportunity—I’m creating it.”

With his network expanding, his stage play in production, and his book on the horizon, Tony Hunter is proving that when purpose and passion align, anything is possible.

This is only the beginning.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Looking back, the three qualities that had the most impact on my journey were vision, resilience, and the ability to build meaningful relationships.

Vision has always been my compass. From the moment I was signed to Muziq Records in 2007, I knew I was called to do more than just entertain—I wanted to inspire. That vision led to the creation of MinolaTV Network, where stories are told from a place of truth and purpose. For anyone starting out, I’d say get clear on your “why” early. The industry can pull you in every direction, but if you know your purpose, you’ll never lose yourself in the process.

Resilience was born out of my experience as a single father and an independent creator. There were moments I felt unseen, overlooked, or exhausted, but I kept showing up. I kept creating, kept believing. Whether I was building a show, writing a book, or figuring out how to put food on the table, quitting was never an option. My advice to anyone early in the game: don’t just expect hard times—prepare for them. And when they come, don’t shrink. Grow.

Building relationships has been one of the most underrated keys to my success. The people around me—like Alexis Contreras, Sid Singh, Jide Kaxton, and my cast members and co-creators—have helped elevate my work and support the vision. Collaboration is everything in this business. Don’t just network—nurture. Pour into people, and they’ll pour back into you.

To those just starting out: Stay grounded. Stay hungry. Stay faithful. Learn from every loss. Celebrate the small wins. And never let the noise of life drown out the voice of your purpose.

How can folks who want to work with you connect?

Yes, I’m absolutely looking to collaborate with others who share a passion for powerful storytelling and meaningful content. As the CEO of MinolaTV and founder of Minola Entertainment Productions, I’m building something bigger than just shows—I’m building a creative ecosystem where talent, vision, and purpose align.

I’m looking to connect with other production companies, actors, actresses, writers, directors, editors, and all kinds of creators who are passionate about telling authentic stories that move people, challenge perspectives, and inspire change. Whether you’re an experienced professional or a rising creative voice, if you bring heart, hustle, and originality to the table, I want to hear from you.

We’re building a network and a brand that represents real people with real stories, and we welcome partners who believe in pushing boundaries and elevating independent content to the next level.

If you’re reading this and feel like your work aligns with our mission, I’d love to connect. You can reach me directly at assistant@minola.tv, visit the website at www.MinolaTV.com, or find me on social media at @TheCeo_81. Let’s collaborate, create, and continue opening doors that were never meant to stay closed.
