Meet Toni Walley

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Toni Walley. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Toni below.

Hi Toni, we’re so appreciative of you taking the time to share your nuggets of wisdom with our community. One of the topics we think is most important for folks looking to level up their lives is building up their self-confidence and self-esteem. Can you share how you developed your confidence?
Over time and through a ton of practice and coaching. It took a long while for me to become confident in myself as a person and as a business owner. I’ve had to coach myself and relearn bad habits of self doubt.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I’m just a momma of three beautiful babies trying to live out her dream of being an artist. Being a photographer was never an option as a career growing up. It wasn’t on any list or test we took in school. In fact, it wasn’t even talked about in my art classes. These days I’m solely focused on creating art that speaks to my audience. Whether that’s of weddings, elopements, families, newborns, or my own life. Im always trying to learn new ways to photograph and edit, create stories with my work, and document milestones in the most unique way possible.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Do your research! Right now there’s a plethora of ways to get information. YouTube, libraries, social media, apps. You can literally learn how to do anything from anywhere in the world. Stay passionate, stay focused, and practice every day!

Alright so to wrap up, who deserves credit for helping you overcome challenges or build some of the essential skills you’ve needed?
Myself. I had to realize my best tool was my own mind. I had to overcome self doubt and stop the constant comparisons. Beat imposter syndrome. I needed to have 100% confidence that I could do it. There are so many instructors out there that claim to know it all and can teach you everything you need to know, but it comes with a price. Anything you need to know, you can learn on your own from research and practice!
