Meet Tony Genius

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Tony Genius a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Tony, looking forward to learning from your journey. You’ve got an amazing story and before we dive into that, let’s start with an important building block. Where do you get your work ethic from?

My work ethic comes from a combination of fear of failing and the determination to complete the tasks that i set out to accomplish. I have seen too many times in my life, whether it be family, friends, coworkers, and peers, that have shaped my understanding of commitment. This has elevated my idea of how important it is to complete tasks so that they don’t pile up, leading to unwanted pressure and deadlines.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

Tony Genius is a character I play in films, adult films, and had become the best representation of my success today. I strive for excellence in every venture that I set my mind to with outstanding results. I have been working in the professional adult entertainment business now for 4 years, having amassed a huge catalog of work that people love. From award winning scenes, to making history has the first African American man to host the Porn Awards in Vegas January 2026. A decorated talent that encompasses acting and sexual performance to bring films to life. I recently was on reality TV on the show BELOW DECK on BRAVO where I was able to take my NSFW (Not Safe For Work) content and bring it to the eyes and ears of the SFW (Safe For Work) spaces on network television. From there, I have been filming a new docu-series that will highlight my journey in this industry as well as shed light on the difficulties we face in these turbulent times of government censorship and religious scrutiny. I pride myself in the sacrifices I have made to pave the way for more creators to take control of their lives and become a success in this business, while trying to remove the stigma of what it means to be a sex worker. I have have over 5 streaming platforms I use to reach thousands of fans who are open to enjoying this kind of work and feeling comfortable sharing it with the world. I continue to advocate for inclusion and change, specifically for protections for sex workers in this growing age of AI technology. I advocate for those who are marginalized, those who are targeted just for wanting to live their true authentic lives. I push for unions, that can help keep Sex work safe, professional, and available to the public as our right to freedom of expression, and I will continue that advocacy till my last dying breath.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

I believe in having a plan first and foremost, as having a solid plan helps you create goals and aspirations that you can aspire to. I also think that your mental health state is very important anytime you get into a business that is under the lens of the public eye. I have always had thick skin, and never really cared much of what people think of me or how I carry myself. Building a brand is the next step, understanding what that will look like and finding your cadence in the formation of your brand. Does your brand represent you well? how do you plan on challenging the norms? What sets your business apart from others that makes you stand out? these are key questions I would ask myself before getting involved in any business venture of brand development so I have key fundamentals that can shape my mission statement and help me navigate the ever changing climate of the internet.

my advice to those who are just getting started is to make sure your mind and heart are 100% in the decisions you are making, there should never be any doubts in your mind of the decisions you are making as that would be a conflict of interest against yourself which will set up holes in your development. You don’t want to be fighting against yourself EVER, so stand firm on your beliefs and put those beliefs into ACTION.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?

as I stated before, I have been traveling the world filming a docu-series on my life and the industry around me. I want to collaborate with like minded, hard working individuals who have sacrificed their image to further build in the community. I strive to work with those who have a clear vision and understanding of what they want out of this career, as well as work towards change and inclusion. I don’t surround myself with surface dwellers, I tend to dive deep and look at the ones who have a firm grasp of the power they have, seeing the bigger picture of what is to expect. Advocacy is one of my biggest interests in reaching out to other brands for collaboration because our goals of safeguarding and expanding our reach seem to line up the best. those that are willing to sacrifice their time and energy into protecting the ones around them, that is what i look for in a qualified candidate.
